MLB & MiLB Promotions for May

Unlike past seasons, I’m not spending time this year looking up team promotions. Not sure how many I will attend. Gwinnett is so far, and there’s a crowd to fight, and it’s hot. The Braves have several weekday promotions, but even for them the fans come out so early. Most will be last minute decisions for me.

What I really want is the Freddie Freeman backpack clip given out in August to kids. I’m ready to offer a Blooper clip in trade.

ROY FACE [SABR Bio] appeared for the Detroit Tigers in their World Championship season. Face was passed by Max Fried in 2020 to have the best single-season winning percentage. According to Baseball-Reference, Fried’s 7-0 in 2020 (1.000%) topped Face’s 18-1 (.947) in 1959. Face appeared in 2two games for DET in 1968. Both times he pitched in 68 games in a season, he led the league. Appeared 68 times in 1956 & 1960, the former also leading MLB. Trevor Hoffman broke his record for most career relief appearances for one club. Face had 775 for PIT and Hoffman had 902 for SDP and is the current NL record holder.

The age you peak at everything. You’ll never have more temper tantrums then when you were two. The first ten years are a valuable time for parents to coach their kids’ emotional intelligence. Kids with higher emotional intelligence (the ability to acknowledge and control feelings, rather than dismiss or be controlled by them) are likely to hit higher peaks in health, wealth, and success later in life.

“The meaning of life centers on social relationships and caring for and being cared for by others,” - UC Berkeley psychologist Robert Levenson. Emotional intelligence peaks at 60, as you finally figure out how to fit life’s ups and downs into your understanding of the world.
