It always amazes me to sit across from someone talking about being a kid and Ty Cobb being a frequent visitor to his house, eating meals with him almost every day. Or living near Babe Ruth’s second wife, or getting her autograph.

EZGo’s sister company Ransomes Jacobson was formed in 1789, and built the first gasoline powered lawnmower. Their equipment is used at Augusta National and several other top golf courses around the world. Today I had lunch with their director of supply chain, who was visiting from their plant northeast of London. Our team coordinates the purchase, fabrication, and shipment of blades overseas for them.

The GT game must’ve been over by the time I got home, after 10 pm.

M is house-sitting for W&MC.

MONTE IRVIN [SABR Bio] Alabama-born. Negro Leaguer. Was considered to be the most qualified candidate to break major league baseball’s color line - before he was drafted into the military in 1942. Irvin became assistant director of promotions and public relations to Commissioner William Eckert on 21-Aug-1968. He once hit a grand slam in the bottom of an inning, before an opposing  player (Rube Walker) hit a grand slam in the top of the same inning, on on 18-May-1950.

Proud to say I never watched the movie "Howard the Duck" all the way through. A low point in Lea Thompson's career.
