Guys like Shaq and Wilt Chamberlain would’ve been higher up on the all time scoring list had they made more free throws. But on the night when Wilt scored 100 in Hershey PA he made 100% of his foul shots.
Someone asks that if your life was on the line would you want
1. Tiger to make a 10 foot putt
2. LeBron to make a 3 pointer
3. Soccer player L Messi to make a penalty kick
Supposedly the percentages were:
Messi made 40% successful kicks
LeBron 34%
Tiger 39% seemed low but some putts are uphill, downhill, etc. I bet if the green were flat Tiger’s percentage would be much higher. Speaking of, are you watching Tiger play Riviera?
Sunday at JFBC Clay preached on being single. The guys were saying it was the best singles sermon they had ever heard.
Have you heard about revival breaking out up at Asbury College in Kentucky? Yesterday Louie Giglio traveled up there to check it out. It might be an interesting thing to experience. I looked it up – a six hour drive. Want to go?
Since I had gotten to the office late yesterday, I left shortly after 5 pm. Was tired from walking the hilly golf course. Stopped by Kroger.
Ceil fixed beef, broccoli, and mashed potatoes for supper. Then apple pie and ice cream, my Valentines Day present. M was down at W&MC’s, helping Will cook brisket. For Valentines A&C shared a heart-shaped taco platter. A good deal at $25.00.
Lifted weights this morning at the gym. I was on the phone the whole way to work, putting out fires. I also stopped by McDonalds for a free caramel frappe, the closest I get to coffee. I At night I’ve been having leg cramps, but last night they were extra bad.
Dustin Hoffman was at the Hawks game last night. Might’ve been the highlight of the evening. Dic and Debbie were at the Celtics game.
MARIANO RIVERA [SABR Bio] is the career leader in ERA+. Among pitchers with at least 200 appearances , Rivera’s career ERA+ of 205 is the best all-time. In 1999, 2001 & 2004, Rivera had the most saves in MLB, with 45, 50, & 53. He is the career leader in saves with 652. The fluid pitching motion he developed was aided by his use of a machete as a youngster. He grew up in poor circumstances in Panama and was taught to wield a machete properly to improve his work in the fields.
DENISON: American society is now in the same condition spiritually that the Israel described by 2 Chronicles 7:13 was in physically. The unbiblical immorality that began gaining cultural traction with the sexual revolution of the 1960s has become normalized and legalized. Those who stand for biblical morality are now stigmatized and such opposition is increasingly criminalized. Mother Teresa observed, “When facing God, results are not important. Faithfulness is what is important.”
