Biscuits

Saturday: C made me a masterpiece out of one of M's homemade biscuits. Porkchops for supper.
Saturday night movie: the 2004 Forrest Whitaker movie "First Daughter" with Katie Holmes and Michael Keaton.

The first lady was played by Margaret Colin, who had previously starred in Independence Day as Jeff Goldblum's off-again, on-again wife.
When Trump was elected, I remember reading social media posts of "strong" people I'd known for decades saying they didn't feel safe. Pretty sure they survived the four years unscathed.

But now with (1) Chinese surveillance balloons flying overhead (only to be shot down after completing its two day journey across the US), (2) China buying up millions and millions of land and buildings and property and businesses in the US, (3) China paying off our government officials and their families, (4) China abusing and terrorizing their own citizens while withholding human rights and religious liberties from them, (5) while food production plants in the US are mysteriously burning to the ground (causing shortages of food and rising prices), (6) while millions of illegal immigrants continuing to stream across our borders unchecked, (7) daily reports of previously healthy athletes and other people dropping dead for no reason, (8) inflation and a recession growing each month, (9) billions of US taxpayer money and U.S. military weapons being sent to Ukraine - weakening our own military and provoking a potential nuclear engagement with Russia's tyrannical leader, (10) while our own US government officials are telling blatant lies that the media isn't calling them out on.

Those previously scared people are silent. Many turn a blind eye, claiming none of these ten concerns are things to worry about. And those are just the ones I came up with off the top of my head.

Now I am the one who's scared. Are people not concerned about the future of this republic?
