New puppy is lots of fun. Pretty good about peeing and pooping outside. When she goes outside she loves to run around and prance.Yesterday Ceil carried her about a quarter mile to visit a neighbor, but the pup walked almost the entire way back. When she got home the pup was exhausted, and took a nap. Eats and drinks well, but needs work on sleeping through the night. C is probably going to name her Winnie. More about the puppy to follow.
Thursday: worked from home. Ceil’s last day of school. She drove my car to save her full tank for our Chattanooga trip.
Friday: worked from home 7:30-11:30. C had a breakfast and was able to gas up my car. Didn’t leave for Chattanooga until almost 2 pm, so when we arrived there wasn’t time to do much. C wanted coffee and a snack, so we ate outdoors near the Chattanooga Choo Choo.
That area is being revitalized.
Also drove around downtown a bit, and past historic Engle Stadium. She visited an art store across the river downtown. Lots of interesting small businesses there, where the long footbridge crosses the river from downtown. We walked across the bridge to the touristy area near the aquarium, and back – about three miles.Ate dinner at The Public House, a nice place in downtown. The station next to our hotel had gas, so I filled up.
Saturday: slept late and missed the hotel breakfast. We went back to the Choo Choo, that coffee shop called the Frothy Monkey.
Delicious looking items on the menu. Waitress said they only had two people in the kitchen, and our order would take 30 minutes. We really didn’t have that much time, as we had to be up Signal Mountain for our puppy appointment. We both ate toasted bagels instead.Beautiful views driving up the mountain. The puppy farm was at the peak. Had to be there on time, or risk not getting the female Ceil wanted. Kinda like a draft. When we arrived the people before us were choosing between the last two females. They picked a frisky one, but the last female frolicked in the grass with her two remaining brothers. Ceil had no probable picking her. All the pups we saw from this litter were all black, most will a small white marking under their mouth, with tiny traces of white here and there, on their underbellies or toes.
We got to meet the parents. Dad dog was light brown, and mom Dolly was white. Not the best picture. Both were glad to see us.Winnie’s hair probably won’t be quite as curly as Barney’s was, which is fine. She will probably grow to 50 or 60 pounds. The place was nice, but more of a puppy farm than Ceil had thought. Several more litters of puppies of various ages, plus a couple of expectant mothers ready to give birth. I had a nice chat with the dad choosing after us, who lived in Memphis. I had left my Grizzlies jacket in the car.Since the drive up the mountain was so steep, with cutbacks, I drove north, and the descent was more gradual. Then south just east of Chattanooga. Stopped by Chickfila before driving home. Winnie stretched out in C’s lap, and between our seats. Was after 4 pm when we got home. Didn't take Ceil long to give her a bath, in the kitchen sink.
Back at work today, trying to catch up. Briefly had my emails down to 15 (temporarily), but I have a bunch of replies.
