Social Dilemma

Watched the Netflix documentary “The Social Dilemma” – a harrowing expose on how Big Tech is purposely  changing the way people think and act, by only feeding people only parts of the actual story. Causing society to spin out of control all the more faster. It’s even worse in other countries.

Heard a profound statement: if everyone can have their own truth, there’s no way people will be able to come together in unity. What are they to unify around? There’s no reason for people to agree on things. Artificial intelligence isn’t going to help, if it can’t determine what’s true and what’s not.

Last week JFBC pastor Clay Smith preached on social media, but really it was just sound Biblical teaching.

I hope to use these trials I’m experiencing to grow closer to God in several areas of my life. Satan is also using it to attack me in other areas. I’m learning to turn to God and pray in times where in the past I would’ve filled my mind with other less important pursuits. Instead of getting me down, God is using these trials to make me stronger, a more Christ-like person. I’m sure Satan is infuriated.

At 50, Phil Mickelson became the oldest golfer to win a major championship. He’s ready to team up with Tom Brady again. Eli Manning says he’s available. Read Denison’s thought’s here.

This past week I paid less than $30.00 for almost $500.00 worth of goods and services, including ten meals, two Braves games, two caps, and a pair of sneakers.

Worked late Friday but the regular customer order for Monday has never come over. Had planned on stopping at 3 or 4 stores and pick up Domino’s pizza for supper. The customer order came over at 7:11 pm so I had to cut my trip short. Wasn’t finished entering the orders until 8:30. Was too tired to work on my laptop or watch a movie. Was in bed by ten. On Friday night.

Saturday morning cleanup, plus I took my car to the carwash. Then lunch at Righteous Que with Rob. Delicious.

I could’ve gone straight to the Braves game for pregame festivities. Instead decided to stop for a drink, and stop by three stores. Was looking for the new 2021 Braves trucker cap. Instead I found another nice Braves cap, and a pair of sneakers I’d been on the lookout for.

Was in my ballpark seat with 30 minutes to spare, after grabbing a soft drink. Saw a couple from Rome that I hadn’t seen since 2019. A good game to attend. Stayed to the end. Stopped by McDonalds on the way home. Watched two movies while playing on my laptop: the Bill Murray drama Broken Flowers, and an FBI thriller Breach.

Sunday School, then picked up a Maddio’s ground beef pizza. Forgot to order thin crust, so it had lots of bread around the edge. It was okay. A 14” large, but take away the crust and it was the same size as the 12” medium thin crust I’d gotten Friday night from Dominos. Had coupons for both.

Back home I listened to last week’s JFBC sermon on social media. Did laundry, cleaned up, folded clothes. Watched the PGA and another movie, Life Happens. Took a nap. Small group at 4 pm. Cut the grass and watered the flowers. Caught Phil on the 18th hole. Also a couple of Seinfeld episodes, including the one with Jon Lovitz wearing a toupee.

Puppy came home today.
She had a big weekend playing with other dogs in SC.
She wears herself out.

WILLIE RANDOLPH [SABR Bio] On 16-Sep-1975, Pittsburgh second baseman set the modern record by getting 7 hits in a 9-inning game. After the 7th hit in the top of the 8th, Pirate rookie Randolph was put in to pinch-run for Stennett and replaced him at second for the last 2 innings of the game. Randolph was BAL’s bench coach in 2011. Hall of Famer Wilbert Robinson had 7 hits in a 9-inning game on 10-Jun-1892. Randolph was the first rookie to appear on a major league All-Star ballot, in 1976. He was selected as an alternate but did not play. Brother Terry Randolph played in 14 games for the 1977 Green Bay Packers

Now that the no-mask mandate is in effect, do we still have to wash our hands?
