May MLB & MiLB SGAs

An incomplete list of MLB and MiLB SGAs and special ticket giveaways for May 2022, mostly for MLB as well as minor league teams east of the Mississippi and south of the Mason Dixon line. In general I exclude giveaways for kids, unless they’re interesting. What of note did I miss?

The May 10 Smoltz bobblehead has the Michigan righthander holding his Cy Young Award. Next year the Braves are giving away a bobble with Smoltz ironing his jersey – while wearing it.

Not an original idea, but the Braves need to give away a Ron Washington bobblehead – perhaps as half of a set, with the third base coach low-fiving a Braves batter rounding third base. Or on his knees working fielding drills with a Braves infielder.

Plenty of teams are giving away bobbleheads. Several bucket hat giveaways, and baseball cap days. Only one team is giving away replica 2021 MLB World Championship rings.

I was in Los Angeles last week. When I drove past Dodger Stadium there were team employees stationed at intersections handing out Mookie Betts bobbleheads. I rolled up my windows and locked my doors, but they wouldn’t let me pass until I took two.
