Earlier there were only 13 in Sunday School. Lee and Nancy only had one other couple in their class, so they went to early worship. Thought: churches aren’t calling it Sunday School any more because it’s so old fashioned. Same with small groups, which is a relatively new phenomenon. They call them something else, but most people (especially visitors) have no idea what that is. That’s even worse. How about calling it Bible Study?
After a nap, we took Winnie and Okie for a long walk. When we got back to the house I noticed the neighbor’s net moving around, and surmised another creature had tangled themselves in it. Sure enough, a wild rabbit had gotten itself stuck. Ceil and I were able to get it unstuck. Had it gone unnoticed the rabbit would probably have fell victim to a hawk or owl.
I washed and folded several loads of laundry. M fixed a stir fry dish for supper. Watched a Hallmark Channel movie starring Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Years. About three quarters of the way through I realized we’d seen it before.
Monday AM golf. C had gone for a walk with her friend Noelle. Trimmed more hedges. C pulled weeds. I mowed the grass – and ran over a small snake. By late in the afternoon I had traversed almost 14,000 steps.
Later we attended a cookout at Lee and Nancy’s with three other couples. Burgers and buffalo brats, with salads, fruit, corn dips, and sweet potato wedges. Ice cream for dessert. We ate out back at a large table. While we were eating a hawk swooped down nearby and grabbed a chipmunk.
After work Tuesday I cashed in a free sandwich coupon at Scoville Hot Chicken. That bad boy wuz huge. Didn't need the fries.
Worked past 5:30 on Wednesday. Rough day. Got home and really didn’t stop until almost 8 pm. Matthew cooked lettuce wraps. I took out the trash and helped with dishes. Started a load of laundry.
Watched some of The Match between Brady & Rodgers vs Mahomes & the Bills QB. Had to be a thrill for the city of Buffalo. The QB’s were all enamored with commentator Trevor Immelman. Good jabs by Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson.
Back in the gym Thursday morning to lift weights.
BOB WALK [B-R Bio] was the first post-expansion rookie to start the first game of a World Series, on 14-Oct-1980. He got the win. He was easily identified in his playing days by his mullet and mustache - for example. He had a famous embarrassing accident in the broadcast booth. He took a tumble when he leaned back too far on his chair. He hoped no one would see it. Everyone did.
