Beware of Moe

Remember Moe Drabowsky? I spent a week with him at the Cubs fantasy camp. Great guy. The Prince of Pranks. Hired a plane to fly over Baltimore's Memorial Stadium trailing the banner "Beware of Moe".

I talked good about Touki, and he has a bad outing. Three innings, six hits, 4 earned runs. Touki’s 46 pitches averaged out to just over 15 per inning. Guess the Rockies were jumping all over his hittable pitches. Wish he’s get rid of that red glove – that’s his problem. Helps the batters focus better.

I talked bad about the bullpen and they toss six shutout innings, with no walks. Touki didn’t walk anyone either. I guess at Coors Field the batters want to swing.

Fried has walked one batter in his past 27 innings pitched, and only 3 in his last 39 innings. His ERA in his last 6 starts is 1.61. Wish Snit would let him go deeper into games, but it was the hot dog days of August. Snit wants him not worn out in September. For the season Fried has only walked 35 in 130 innings. He’s averaging over one strikeout per inning. Hitters are batting .242 against him.

Charlie Morton had another good start, and signed a one year contract extension for 2022.

Thursday: left work at about 5:20. Stopped by the driving range to hit a bucket of balls. I’m improving, but still inconsistent. Tried out a few adjustments that worked most of the time. Also stopped by Dollar Tree.

For supper Ceil grilled boneless chicken breasts and pot stickers, and tossed a salad. Winnie was a little less bothersome to Okie. By Monday they'd worn each other out.

To celebrate the opening of football season we wore spirit gear at work on Friday. I skipped the jersey to wear a UGA-themed Hawaiian type shirt. Chickfila biscuits were brought in. The office mask mandate was re-instituted, for when we leave our desks.

Tech had a white out stadium for their season opener, asking fans to wear white. But the team is wore gold helmets and britches.

We watched the game and ate supper over at my other friend Reid’s house. Trevor Lawrence lost a bet with a teammate, and had to wear UGA gear.

Not sure about SPdL, but at JFBC, North Point, and Passion you can give on line, JFBC has kiosks in the hallway where you can give. They haven’t been passing the offering plate in worship services, instead having ushers holding buckets at the doors when you leave.

When most of JFBC was on Zoom and watching the worship services from home, they encouraged members to get dressed and prepare for worship as if they were coming to church. We’d be on the couch with the laptop on the ottoman. Barney would like to crawl up between us. Some younger couples would have children on their laps. Luckily none of my Hot Wheels tracks were in view.
