Separated at Birth?

Tom Cruise is starting to look like a 62 year old. A 62 year old Norm McDonald. Not good, considering Norm died when he was 61. Separated at birth?

Looks like I got my new white sneakers just in time to catch the wave of popularity. Saw where the symphony orchestra at the closing ceremony was all outfitted with white sneaks – except for the conductor.

Now that the Olympics is over, the WNBA will be starting back. Did you see where Caitlin visited Yankee Stadium and hung out with Aaron Judge?

ESPN has a new documentary coming out this weekend, all about Greg Maddux. Can't wait. Interviews with him, Randy Johnson, Barry Bonds, and others. Should be good. Six hours but I bet several of his remarkable achievements will be left out.

The worldwide leader cleaned house again yesterday. Let Robert Griffin go. Also Samantha Ponder, and a female Christian reporter. All three had made "controversial" comments previously on social media.

A new star studded season of "Only Murderers In the Building" debuts on August 27.

A coworker passed away on August 4. Only 55 years old. Seems like the last time I saw him, he mentioned he'd been having health issues. He grew up over in those old Lindbergh apartments where the Eatons used to live. He knew Howard and Deidre and Chad. R.I.P. Hung Danh.

The new Memphis salesman was in our office this week. He is huge, like 6'6". Played tight end for the University of Memphis Tigers. Grew up in East Memphis.

I do think I remember Jeff White from Lang's class at SPdL. Quiet, but an okay kid. I hear Lang is now writing a daily email update for Grind City Media. I just subscribed.

I like the full screen on my laptop. I will pull out my laptop at home on the couch instead of just playing on my phone.

McDonalds has a $5 deal where you get a drink, small fries, 4 chicken nuggets, and a burger. They say they're losing money because of what they pay their employees. I get a chicken sandwich and large fries for $3 at McDonalds, or two chicken sandwiches at Wendys for $3.00. They're losing money on me for sure.

Shoot 9 bucks don't get you much at Truist Park, that's for sure. The Braves have won 6 or 7 straight division championships, have 5 starters on the disabled list, and fans are acting like the sky is falling.

Good exercises that I need to be doing: pushups, burpees, planks, glute bridges, side planks, squats, single leg deadlifts, dumbbell rows, standing overhead dumbbell press, and lunges. Several of these were recommended by my physical therapists.

Cool car. Hasn't moved in years. No, not the Caddy.

RED SCHOENDIENST [SABR Bio] suffered a severe eye injury in the Civilian Conservation Corps then was discharged from the Army due to a shoulder injury and ongoing eye problems, then endured a broken finger, pleurisy and bruised ribs during a major league season before sitting out with tuberculosis the next year. Schoendienst was named International League MVP in 1943, before spending most of 1944 in the US Army, but his injuries and ailments continued to haunt him throughout his career. In the top of the 14th inning of the 1950 ASG, Schoendienst led off with a solo HR off Ted Gray. Ewell Blackwell got 3 quick outs in the bottom of the inning to seal the NL victory. After having managed STL for 12 seasons (1938 games) from 1965-1976, including 2 pennants and 1 WS championship, Schoendienst was called back to manage the Cardinals for the final 37 games in 1980 and 24 games in the middle of the 1990 season.
