This Week in College Football

UGA defense was dominant again in the Dawgs second straight shutout of an SEC opponent. First time that's happened since the 1980 championship team. Not bad beating the eighth ranked team in the country with the backup QB, a walk-on.

Stetson is clearly the second best QB, but some knuckle headed fans swear Kirby needs to play the inexperienced, highly rated recruits. Dude thinks he's an expert just because he has a podcast and a Twitter account.
Several "experts" thought Stetson starting might lead to an upset, or that UGA wouldn't cover. They were wrong.

Anna went to the game for the second straight week.

Notre Dame lost to Cincinnati in South Bend.

GT fans were primed to "get back" at Pitt for last year's loss. Instead the Panthers beat up on the Jackets even worse.
Coach Collins ditched the loafers & no socks to rep adidas. An improvement, but still not too scary getting off the bus.

As expected, Bama rolled over Ole Miss. Still, UGA shouldn't have to beat Bama twice to win the national championship. Arch was in Tuscaloosa to watch Cooper's alma mater.

Clemson looked impotent against always-tough BC. The Tigers should've known they'd be in for a long day when the referee showed up with an accent like a Fenway Park usher. Plus the announcer was a BC legend.

Not a good look when Dabo complains about the refs, though he did have a beef. Doesn't make up for the fact that QB DJ Ukeleli is completely out of sync with his receivers. The Tigers moved the ball better on the ground, despite missing their freshman running back. Why they kept passing was a mystery to me.

FSU kicked a field goal on the last play of the game to beat mighty Syracuse. The ACC has several up and down teams. UVA beat Miami. UNC beat Duke. Louisville beat Wake Forest. NC State barely edged Louisiana Tech.

Stanford upset #3 Oregon. # 10 Florida lost to Kentucky. South Carolina barely beat mighty Troy.

Why do teams wear special uniforms against weaker opponents? Why not save them to wear in more important games? UGA wears them against weaker teams to appease the fans. GT wears a different costume every week. It's a big game to them. Look at us, we're like Oregon! No you're not.

Why did SC wear all garnet against Troy? Why did 0-4 FSU wear all garnet ? Seems like they'd need to play better in order to earn the right to wear a special uniform. And I won't even get into why little schools like Troy wear dark pants on the road against bigger schools. Makes them look all the more like a small school.
