Most Points in a Game

Last night Joel Embid of the 76ers scored 70 points, despite not playing in 12 minutes of the game. He didn’t crack the top ten highest scoring games in NBA history.

So decades after retirement, Wilt still has 29 of the 53 highest scoring games in NBA history. When he retired, Chamberlain had 32 of the top 38 highest scoring games. Wilt averaged 50.4 points per game in 1961-62 season, and 44.8 in 1962-63. In his six seasons playing for the Warriors in Philadelphia and Golden State, Wilt averaged 41.5 points per game, and finished with a career average of 30.1.

056 is Trae Young’s highest scoring game. Later this week the player the Hawks traded for Trae (Luka) goes for 73 points, cracking the top ten.

Saw where Elena Delle Donne could be changing teams. She’s a free agent and could be moving on from the Washington Mystics, though previously she’s tried to stay close to her family in Delaware. I can’t believe she is already 34 years old. No relation to Italian Canadian mobster Raffaele Delle Donne.

Man I don’t like driving in the rain. Got me some new windshield wipers.

My friend from GT used to knit scarfs for her favorite people. Fred O got one. Yearwood’s said YEAR on one end and WOOD on the other. She put my nickname on my scarf. On one end it read, CRAZY and DAVE on the other. She has pancreatic cancer, and is now in hospice. She had never married, but friends from her church were ministering to her, as well as her brother Jimmy. I checked the obituaries yesterday – nothing about my friend, but on Saturday Jimmy’s wife had “suddenly” passed away. Goodness.

Finished reading a book about habits. Interesting, but not life-changing. I am on the waiting list for ten books.

Don’t tell anyone, but now I’m reading Jessica Simpson’s autobiography right now. You don’t want to know who she is. I really didn’t know for sure, so now I am finding out. She grew up as the daughter of a youth pastor, and quotes scripture throughout the book. When she became famous at the age of 18, she went public with her vow to remain a virgin until she got married (four years later). She grew up singing in church choirs and singing at church conventions. She is married to a former San Francisco 49er. After Sept 11 she performed on several USO tours in the Middle East, and went on medical missions to Africa. When Jessica Simpson visited the White House, she met the Secretary of the Interior. Jessica exclaimed “I love what you’ve done with the place!” True story.

Work was crazy yesterday. The emails just kept coming. Couldn’t get ahead of them, or do anything else. Left at 6:20 pm. Ceil cooked a soup with lentls, spinach, carrots, etc. I can’t her to watch basketball. Yet.

Ran at the gym this morning. Vendor brought in lunch: Piazonas Pizza, from the Norcross town square. Very good.
