All Star Week: Day Five

Working at this event all day for 7 straight days makes it hard to remember what day it is. Guess this will be like retirement. If I ever make it that far.

Sunday we hung out underneath the ballpark while Ludacris and Jermain Dupri rehearsed out on the field. Later they walked right past us in the tunnel. Also Kane Brown, who is singing Georgia on My Mind.

We also spotted Greg Maddux underneath the stadium. Rumor is that he's throwing out the first pitch tomorrow night, along with two other Braves legends: maybe Glavine, Smoltz, or Chipper. But I've been wrong before.

They fed us Jimmy John's for lunch. I only grabbed part of one sandwich and went to my seat. Thought I'd gotten turkey but it was just a veggie. Ugh.

We pulled the big red stage off the field and finished up around 7 last night. I walked back across 285 to the FanFest.

Then I drove downtown to hand off my parking pass to Will. Forgot that Beyoncé was in concert at Mercedes Benz, but at 8 pm most of the crowd was already inside. Chatted with Will for a while. The girlies had already gone to bed. I didn't get home until well after 9 pm. Fixed a chicken quesadilla for supper.

Had to be at the ballpark at 7 am this morning. Not too long afterwards we pushed the heavy Home Run Derby stage from the player parking lot to the centerfield gate. Bigwigs were on the field taking batting practice. When they finished we pushed the stage out onto the field.
Then back underneath to wait. The police were patrolling the stadium with bomb sniffing dogs. Around 11 am we lined up in centerfield again, then ran out to get the stages. We rushed them off in 9 minutes. Would've been quicker except there was a technical difficulty with the part of the stage that I was pushing.
The stages are high tech. Laptops, lights, they shoot fire and steam into the air. Video boards. Once we get them on the field all the electrical cables have to be hooked up.
When we finished this morning I hiked across 285 to meet Will, Shivonne, and Millie at the fanfest.
Lots of fun.
Face painting, mascot photos, etc.
The girlies had a blast.

Then they got back into the stroller and Millie went to sleep.
They left. I stood in line for another bucket hat. They were out of the caps that I wanted. Saw coworker Jessica and friends Richard and Katie.
I walked across the bridge to Costco for lunch, where I've hung out for the afternoon. Had to be back under the stadium by 530 for the Home Run Derby.
Haley Hurt is dragging David to the All Star Game tomorrow night. Coworker Ginger will be there as well.
