Finished Lauren Graham’s book” Have I Told You This Already: Stories I Don’t Want to Forget to Remember”. Just okay.
Now reading Bill Bryson’s The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid: a Memoir. About the author’s childhood growing up in the 1950’s and 60’s. Quite entertaining.
Some people will deny / ignore the Creator and Lord of the universe, but see a bird or squirrel or butterfly and take that as a sign for how they should live their life. Into the whole “you be you” mantra. How is that gonna work out for them?
TV: not sure what I will watch. Kids today like Matthew watch YouTube videos. M watches lots of cooking videos. You find a cook you like. Some of them are entertaining: Brad, Matty, Claire, Lang. I do watch the Bryson golf videos where he tries to break 50. I’m sure there is a sea of other videos to watch once I find them. I’d rather liste to books as opposed to podcasts, but enjoy listening to Cellini and Dimino on 680 from 10 – 2. From 2-6 on 680 Chuck has great football knowledge but I’m not a fan of his sidekick Chernoff.

Wednesday: still worn out from my week of fun. Stayed at work organizing past 530 pm.
Matthew cooked another one of his feasts: melt in your mouth Southern fried chicken tacos, collard greens with bacon, and freshly brewed ice tea served in a Mason jar. Can’t remember what was on TV last night. Forgot that the ESPYs were on. Also want to watch my recordings of the Hone Run Derby and All-Star Game pregames, to see if I see myself. Got plenty of photos to post to my blog as well.
Thursday: felt like last night was Monday night. Got my in box down to 25 emails. Still plenty of catching up to do, as well as my ongoing training of young Leo. Jason’s Deli leftovers for lunch again.
Ceil had lunch with Myra, Mary Hurt, and Mary Hubert. It was Bob Marsh’s birthday. The event wore C out. M wasn’t feeling well, so I picked up Chickfila for C and Taco Bell for me.
Wore my black Hokas pretty much every day this past week out on the Truist Park clay infield and warning track. They’re several years old, so perhaps it is time to get that new pair of black Vans sneakers. Or white?
DENISON: according to a recent report, 72% of the world’s population—5.7 billion people—live under authoritarian rule. When I traveled in Russia and China, I was told to assume the government was bugging my hotel room and listening to my conversations. In my many trips to Cuba, I had to be careful never to criticize the Communist Party, or the pastors and churches we served would face persecution after we left.
