Taking the kids to the all star game fanfest? I'm working there on Saturday afternoon. Blooper "helped" out at the fanfest orientation this morning.
I'm also part of the on field crew to set up for the pregame concerts on Monday and Tuesday night. I wrote this while sitting in the Braves dugout. It is air conditioned.
So for this field staff assignment we are pushing the huge stages out onto the infield for the pregame introductions, then pushing them back out the centerfield gate afterwards. Then we can stay and watch the All Star Game and Home Run Derby for free - plus we get paid. Not a bad deal.
Most of the signage in and around and underneath the ballpark has been changed out from "Braves" to "National" and "American".
We're not supposed to post pictures until later in all star week, but I don't think these will get me in trouble. There were a bunch of folks on VIP tours snapping pictures.
Did you know they planted a seedling from the Ponce de Leon Park magnolia at Truist Park? I finally found it this afternoon.

ALBERT PUJOLS [SABR Bio] holds the National League record for most RBI in a season by a rookie, with 130 RBI in 2001. On 28-May-2006 the Padres' Mark Bellhorn hit a HR measured at a 438' in the bottom of the 4th inning. In the top of the 5th, the Cards' Pujols hit one measured at 436'. Kyle Schwarber is the current record-holder for his 488' blast on 18-Oct-2021 in the NLCS. He is the first player to hit at least 30 home runs in each of his first seasons in the majors, from 2001 through 2012. Pujols passed Cal Ripken in 2017 for the most times hitting into a double play, when he did it for the 351st time. He ended with a lofty 426.
