First Day of School

Today was Shivonne and Millie’s first day of “school”. Mill Mill got some new silver sneakers. I'm hearing that the day went well. 

I am back at work with lots of catching up to do. Started the day with 79 emails. Finished the day with 35 despite being over at Leo’s desk most of the day.

So if we are judging NFL QBs on their performance in their first preseason game, let’s check out how several QBs did this past weekend.

Stetson 16 -24 for 188 yards, 2 TD & one INT, ran 3 times for 11 yards 67% 7.8 yd/att

My old fantasy camp buddy MOE DRABOWSKY:  [SABR Bio] was the first pitcher to strike out six consecutive batters in a World Series game. On 06-Oct-1966, Drabowsky’s name and photo were in every newspaper in the country, a day after winning Game 1 of the 1966 World Series and striking out 11 Dodgers, including Jim Barbieri, Maury Wills, Willie Davis, Lou Johnson, Tommy Davis, & Jim Lefebvre in a row. Moe surrendered Stan Musial’s 3000th career hit,  and took the loss in Early Wynn’s 300th and final career win. Musial’s 3,000th was on 13-May-1958. Wynn’s 300th victory was on  13-Jul-1963(2). Once while sitting in the Orioles’ bullpen in Cleveland, he gave an Indians fan a hotfoot. Using the bullpen phone in Baltimore, he ordered take-out from a restaurant in Hong Kong.

I bought two pairs of sneakers last night. They were half price, and I spread the payments over 6 months. Not thrilled with them. Will probably return them and stick to Hokas. Decided to just cash in all the gift cards and credits that I can, which amounts to over $700.00. Plus I have a WalMart gift card I’ll use to buy Nike Panda Dunks, and a $10 credit I’ll use to buy maybe a shirt or something.
