News: we are officially empty-nesters. Matthew moved out into a house in Summerhill, just blocks from Turner Field. The defunct putt putt course is just a block away. He took one load down last night at 6 pm, and we both took a carload of his stuff down later last night, leaving at 9:45 pm. I didn’t get home until well after 11 pm. It’s a nice house with hardwood floors downstairs and carpeted bedrooms. I hear there are trendy restaurants opening in the area. Just ten minutes away from W&MC’s house. Ten minutes away from his job at Beetlecat.
Worked from home yesterday and again today. Knocked out one big project yesterday. Hoped to knock out another today, but got tied up doing cruddy things all day. Last night Ceil made spaghetti.
Saturday morning I’m walking down by the river with my friend Rob. Watching the UGA game outside at the Halls backyard. Guess I’ll miss the Clemson game. Need to get some yardwork done over the weekend as well.
Sounds like game one of the NLDS will be Tuesday, with Fried and Anderson pitching the first two games. Prediction: In 2021 the Braves win have three 20-game winners: Mike Soroka, Max Fried, and Ian Anderson. Something Maddux, Glavine, and Smoltz never did.

MIKE SCHMIDT [B-R Bio] is the only 20th-century National League player to hit home runs in four consecutive trips to the plate in one game - HRs in 5th, 7th, 8th, & 10th on 17-April-1976 As a teenager, he was a lifeguard at the aquatic club run by his parents. His parents are Joseph Jack Schmidt and Lois Jane Philipps who managed the Philipps Aquatic Club founded by Lois' great-grandfather Charles A. Philipps. He is the last player to lead a league in home runs more than four times. Led the NL in HR 8 times. Regarding his physical prowess, an All-Star teammate once opined, “To have his body, I’d trade him mine and my wife’s and I’d throw in some cash.” Quote from Pete Rose who was Schmidt’s teammate on PHI 1979-83.
