Awards Season

UGA punter Jake Camarda did not punt enough to qualify for the Ray Guy Award. Before even looking at the stats, I predict the Penn State punter will win, based on media bias. Statistically, Stout's average trails Araiza's by over five yards.

Current ESPN Total QB Rating: everyone is trying to convince themselves that Clemson QB DJ Ukulele had a good game against mighty Wake Forest. In fact he dropped several spots in the QBR rankings to 104th in the nation. For the season he's thrown 9 TD passes and 8 interceptions.

1. 90.7 CJ Stroud Oklahoma State

2. 88.7 Bryce Young Alabama

4. 86.1 Stetson Bennett UGA

5. 86.1 JT Daniels UGA

8. 81.6 Kenny Pickett Pitt

10. 79.4 Matt Corral Ole Miss

37. 69.2 Chase Bryce App St (Clemson transfer)

84. 52.3 Jeff Sims Georgia Tech

91. 46.6 Jordan Yates Georgia Tech

104. 41.5 DJ Uiagalelei Clemson

The walk-on Stetson has thrown for almost as many yards as the 5 star DJ, with more TD's and fewer interceptions – in half as many attempts. Similarly, Bennett has almost rushed for as many yards as DJ for over twice the average in a third as many attempts.

In fact, Bennett was just named a finalist for the Burlsworth Trophy, awarded to the top walk-on in the nation. Interestingly, Bennett shares the same uniform number with former Burlsworth winner Hunter Renfrow of Clemson.

UGA freshman tight end Brock Bowers was not a finalist for the John Mackey Award, despite leading in several categories.
