I’m hooked on the new Hulu series Chad Powers, based off the Eli Manning character who dons makeup to walk on to a college football team. Binge watched the first five episodes. Filmed around Atlanta and at the Georgia State football stadium. Funny. Too bad it’s not “irreverent” but down-right anti-God. Interesting that in the photo below the GEORGIA STATE spelled out in the upper deck hasn't been digitally altered to read SOUTH GEORGIA CATFISH.
Can GT QB Haynes King win the Heisman? The ballots must be cast between December first and 8th – so voters can wait until after the champion games are played if they so wish. The only way King wins is if the Jackets finish strong, remaining unbeaten going into the Georgia game, play Georgia tough, then win the ACC Championship game. King can’t afford any slipups the rest of the way.
The Heisman website has fan voting up. It was the first time I’d seen what several of these players look like. Lots of choices. I wonder if they will gradually narrow it down.
I uncovered an old Camp SPdL Top Ten List from when Lang was in 10th grade: the top ten best motioners to camp songs.
10. Lauren Petty, on “God’s Not Dead”.
9. music leader Mark Cable, as portrayed by Lisa Johnston.
8. Tracy Taylor on “I’ve Got a River of Life”…gush gush gush. Tracy hadn’t appeared in a top ten list all week, and was feeling left out.
7. Preston Smith’s fall during presidential power hour.
6. Marc Jackson imitating Lauren Petty
5. The F.L.C. – what the 10th graders refer to as “The Gym”. I taught them well. Not my best number five, I suppose.
4. The Stooges in the Aerobics cluster.
3. Kelly Korey laughing at “Bread”. I can’t remember what this was about.
2. Heather Swilley imitating Lauren Petty. Heather is a better Lauren than Lauren is.
1. Carroll Glover. Just mentioning his name always gets a laugh.
W&MC and their girlies made it to San Francisco late Tuesday after a layover in Denver. Long day. They were at Hartsfield around 7 am. I hadn’t known when they were flying, and had to check on Monday when the terrorist was captured in the airport. On Wednesday W&MC took the girlies to a park in San Francisco across from old Kezar Stadium, where the 49ers played back in the day. I think Will thought I was kidding.
Article: if you make handwritten to-do lists, you have these distinct cognitive traits. Probably written by someone who like to make handwritten lists.
1. Your memories are more deeply engrained.
2. You think more clearly because handwriting slows you down.
3. You remember where items are on your lists.
4. You’re more self-aware of what you can get done.
5. You’re more emotionally connected to your goals.
6. You’re better at prioritizing.
7. You’re more mentally grounded, can focus better, and have less mental clutter.
8. You’re more conscious of your actions, more in the moment, more present.
9. You exhibit higher internal motivation.
10. You see life as a journey, each day part of a bigger story, not just a checklist of things to do.
11. Life has more meaning. Looking back at old lists shows seasons of life, obstacles that were overcome, a record of becoming, not just doing.
