Hank Aaron Weekend

Always good to see the Braves wearing their 1974 feather uniforms.

Did you see the article in the AJC about Jo Atchison, written by the GT sports beatwriter Ken Sugiura? Mrs. Atchison used to watch GT games from Paul Johnson’s private box at Grant Field, with Johnson’s wife. More recently she was a guest in the private box of GT AD Todd Stansbury. One time the wife of pepper Rodgers visited and met Mrs. Atchison. Mrs. Rodgers asked if Jo had attended games when Pepper was head coach. Jo replied: “I attended games when Pepper was PLAYING”.

Son Lee played basketball at Lakeside, and was a beast. On choir tour one year I “roomed” with SPdL church organist Scott Atchison, and had the best time. One time we were at a small town in Arkansas or Kansas or somewhere. Our host family asked what we wanted for breakfast. Scott exclaimed “Quiche Lorraine!”.

I had eaten an early supper, but C needed to stop at ChickFilA and Publix. I was so full of Mtn Dew that I had trouble sleeping. Then around 6:45 am I fell into a deep sleep and didn’t wake up until 8:15 am, so I clocked in late to work. My goal was to really clear out most of my email in box. Down to nine with more to go.

Man not much to report. Work today. Lunch from Beth’s Country Cooking. C got fried chicken. I got tossed salad, cole slaw, potato salad, and macaroni & cheese.

Watched the Hallmark movie Follow Your Heart.
