1960: Move from Vineville Ave to Wimbush Road.  Cassius Clay wins gold at Rome Olympic Games.

1961: Attend Ingleside Presbyterian.  Bay of Pigs Invasion.

1962: Johnny Carson takes over as Tonight Show host, replacing Jack Paar.  Zip Code use begins.

1963: Brother Franklyn born.  Attend Forest Hills UMC.  President Kennedy assassinated.  Beatles on Ed Sullivan Show.

1964: Riverside UMC kindergarden.  Hospitalized for phneumonia, visited by "Dobie Gillis" star Bob Denver.  Sound of Music released.

1965: Rosa Taylor Elementary School.  Northminister Presbyterian Church.  Ride the Nacy Hanks from Macon to Forsyth.

1966: Braves and Falcons first seasons in Atlanta.  My dad holds season tickets for the first nine years.

1967: Third grade. Vacation at Jekyll Island and Fort Myers.

1968: St. Louis: Braves/Cardinals game and the Gateway Arch.  Star Trek. MLK assassinated.  Nixon elected President.

1969: Vine-Ingle Little League Peaches.  Braves win the first National League Western Division Championship.  Apollo 11 lands on moon.  

1970: Vine-Ingle Giants.  Sea Hunt.  Woodstock.  Newlywed Game.

1971: Move to Kathryn Drive and Springdale Elementary. Little League Reds, football Vikings.  Lost in Space.

1972: Miller A Junior High School.  Pony League baseball, midget football Browns (I score a touchdown!).

1973: Ninth Grade football team beats GMC 96 - 0 and wins City Championship.  Church youth trip to Disney World/Busch Gardens.  Summer Camp at AH Stephens State Park.

1974: Junior Varsity Football City Champions.  Family road trip to NW Missouri and SW Iowa. 

1975: Central wins AAA State Football Championship, the state's highest classification.  I convert an extra point in the championship game, and score 33 points for the season.  Baptised on Easter Sunday at Northside Christian Church.  Umpire Little League with future Pittsburg Pirates GM Cam Bonifay.  Attend Church Camp in Temple GA.  First car: a red '66 Ford Country Sedan station wagon.  Hired at Baskin-Robbins, work with best friends Don and Chuck.

1976: Disney World with Sugar Bear Band.  Missouri trip with family.  My extra points are the difference in three varsity football wins.

1977: Enroll at Georgia Tech.  Live with Aunt Martha in Sandy Springs. Buy red '72 Buick Skylark.  German Camp in Dahlonega.

1978: Move into Toco Trail Apartments in Chamblee with Wayne Smith, Don Sells, and Mike Kirkland.  Join Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church.  Winter Mission Trip to Gatlinburg TN.

1979: Resident Manager at Georgia Tech BSU.  Sing "King Tut" in front of a thousand BSUers at Fall Convention at Rock Eagle.  Wreck Skylark.  Summer job at Betz Chemical in SW Macon.

1980: Flunk out of Tech.  Take classes at Dekalb Community College.  Work at Chickfila in Omni.  Winter Mission trip to Elmira New York.  Coach SPdL mighty mite basketball.  Youth choir trip to Colorado.  Church softball with David Hurt and Steve Norman (1st of 14 straight seasons).  Buy '74 Buick Regal.

1981: Peachtree Park apartments with Warren, Jeff, and Eddie.  Mission Trip to Terre Haute Indiana.  SPdL Choir Trip to Rochester NY.  John Lennon assassinated.

1982: Graduate from Tech.  Another Colorado choir trip.  Road trip to Ohio.  Dad hands down Subaru compact to me.  Square Pegs.

1983: Move to Greenwood Avenue apartment (aka "The Hubcap").  Camp SPdL Chaperone (first of ten straight years).  St. Simons Singles Trip.

1984:  Hired by SEPCO in Doraville.  Singles trips to Gulf Shores and Ridgecrest.

1985: New Years in New Orleans for Auburn/Michigan Sugar Bowl.  Space shuttle Challenger explodes.

1986: Wreck Subaru.  Buy navy VW Golf.  Savannah trip.  Grandfather Murphy dies.  Buy his house in Morningside.

1987: Marry Ceil Miller.  Honeymoon in Bermuda.  Hired by
Tull Metals.

1988:  Hilton Head trip.  Grandfather McBath dies.  San Fransisco earthquake.  

1989:  Trips to Richmond and Hilton Head.  Berlin Wall falls.

1990:  Run my first Peachtree Road Race (I've run every year since).  Chicago trip: see games at Wrigley Field and old Comminsky Park.

1991: Attend first World Series game in the deep South.  Braves beat Twins in extra innings.  Spent fall weekend in Los Angeles.  Buy red VW Jetta.  

1992:  Work one month in Greensboro.  Braves lose Wold Series to Toronto.

1993:  Will born.  Fall trip to Boston, Fenway Park, Maine.  First Mrytle Beach vacation (we've gone every year since).  Run Atlanta Half Marathon.

1994:  Move to East Cobb County.  Chaperone SPdL Youth Disney trip.  Work for a month in Little Rock. 

1995:  Cubs Fantasy Camp in Phoenix, AZ.  Braves win World Series.

1996:  Anna born.  Carry Olympic Torch.  Attend several Olympic Events, the Peach Bowl, and the last game in Atlanta Stadium: the World Series loss to the Yankees.  Chicago / Detroit / Indiana trip.

1997:  Ocala trip.  Trade Golf for Ford Taurus.

1998:  Matthew born.  Will's first baseball season.  NLCS game vs. Marlins.  Fall Ridgecrest trip.  Princess Diana dies.

1999:  North Point Community Church.  Work in distant Lawrenceville for six months.  Consider Charleston move.  Peach Bowl.

2000:  Attend first Masters Tournament.  Travel to Birmingham, Tampa, Little Rock, and Charlotte.  Jetta dies.  Buy Mazda minivan.  Will turns unassisted triple play

2001: Run in Salt Lake City Olympic Torch Relay.  Work one month each in Chattanooga, Tulsa, and Dallas. 

2002:  Anna and Matthew in Columbia wedding.  Anna's first year of ballet.  Will rides Zamboni at Thrashers game.  Work trips to Chicago, Dallas, Shreveport, and Little Rock.

2003:  Fredericksburg trip.  The Masters, again.  Work trips to Birmingham, Richmond, and Huntsville. 

2004:  Washington DC trip.  Will runs his first Peachtree (and every one since).

2005:  Trips to NYC (Shea Stadium, etc) and Chicago (American Girl Store).  Trade Taurus for Civic.  Start this blog.

2006:  Chaperone first of five Jekyll Island Expreditions.  Will plays in Cooperstown NY and later turns his second unassisted triple play.  Work trip to Orlando.  Win 370 two-liter Cokes.

2007:  San Fransisco family vacation in August.  Matthew, Anna, and Will serve in Brett and Carla's weddingChaperone Will's Tybee Island retreat.  Work one month in Houston.  Will strikes out 11 in 4-2/3 innings.

2008:  Destin vacationChaperone Will's St. George Island retreat and Anna's Zoo overnighter.  Ceil wrecks 2000 vanBuy 2002 Mazda minivan.

2009:  Matthew's Zoo trip.  The Merritt Island Retreat was great.  Knoxville baseball tournament.

2010:  Rosemary Beach vacation with Hurts and Davis's.  Two Nashville baseball tripsChaperone Will's trips to Gulf Shores and St. Augustine (add in the Jekyll Island and annual Mrytle Beach trips to make FIVE beach trips in one year).  I help write Expedition Skit.  Will leads his East Cobb Baseball team in several hitting and pitching categories.

2011:  Anna dances in The Wiz.  Will travels to Answers in Genesis in northern KY, & works at Camp Highland, & is MVP of his high school team. Washington DC vacation & Jekyll Expedition. Renovate kitchen & bath.

2012: Ceil's Paris trip. Anna's prom. Will enters UGA. Trips to Destin, Myrtle Beach, & Sloppy Floyd State Park.

2013: Ceil's Jackson Hole Trip. Myrtle Beach. Sell van/buy CRV. Dave Kicks for a Kia.

2014: Myrtle Beach. Pelicans triple play prize: widescreen/laptop/tablet. Ceil's daddy passes away at 83. Ceil teaches art & trips to Fredericksburg. Little Rock work trip.

2015: Myrtle Beach. Chop down eight Bradford Pears & two backyard trees. Bobbleheads in Rome, Chattanooga, Gwinnett, & Atlanta. Ceil teaches kindergarten art at Legacy.

2016: Will & MC's wedding. Myrtle Beach. Bobbleheads. EBay. Ceil teaches art & works at Veritas. Tour SunTrust Park.

2017: Ceil teaches art & works at Veritas. Mrytle Beach. 30th wedding anniversary. 30th work anniversary.
