Lang pointed out that early in June he had suggested that very trade while he was on the air, and posted the tape on social media. Many were impressed.
At our Monday night men’s Bible Study the idea was for a different guy to lead every week, sharing whatever they wish. Week one was my other friend Reid, who had organized the study. Next was host David R on hope. This week was Matt, on the prodigal son parable. All very good. I am up for next week. Matt had mentioned a particular sermon he had liked, so I plan on taking notes for us to discuss. “How to be changed by the gospel”.
My old GT roommate Jeff Yearwood is now the preacher at the church he grew up in, FBC in tiny Concord GA. Jeff also bought a foreclosed church building in the next county over,where he holds an evening service at least once a month. Jeff said he only preaches from the gospels. He doesn’t have anything against the Old Testament or the rest of the Bible, but things since most folk get such little exposure to Biblical preaching, he sticks to the gospels. Some think Andy Stanley has something against the Old Testament (he doesn’t), but he sticks mostly to the New Covenant as well.
Wednesday: worked until 5:45 again, trying to finish a project. Drove home. Spaghetti for supper. Then I drove C to Perimeter Mall. Me and Winnie stayed in the car. Stopped by Trader Joes on the way home. Me and Winnie stayed in the car. Home. TV. Laptop. Bed.
Up early this morning to run. My three fastest miles in years - 33 minutes flat. Thinking about using some gift card to buy new running shoes. Probably a better use of money than buying flip flops.
This past weekend I entered a contest to win dinner for 2 at Ponko Chicken? I am waiting for them to send me details on redeeming the prize. There is a Ponko on Roswell Road in the Kroger shopping center just south of Weiuca Road. Nicely flavored chicken tenders, salads, etc.
SCIENCE: ocean temperatures in the Atlantic and Pacific have indeed been rising at “unprecedented” rates, endangering the lives of millions of fish. The cause is not man – but undersea earthquakes and volcanic eruptions at an ever-increasing rate.
CLICKBAIT: some sad person listed ten cities that aren’t worth visiting any more. Not sure where is good, besides NYC, Paris, and London. Don’t go to San Francisco (crime), LA (same), Cairo, Dubai (no soul), Port Sudan, Houston (too hot), Salt Lake City, Miami (crime), Nashville, Cabo San Lucas.

Note to self: more than once lately I’ve bought shoes using the “make four payments over 8 weeks” plan. To spread this out over three credit card payments I need to make the purchase in the last week of my credit card cycle. For me that’s around the 15-18th of the month.
