Had a great time at the Braves game with Will, Shivonne, and Millie. Didn’t get to watch much baseball, but the Braves didn’t provide much action.
Left work at 430 and took back roads to Cobb Parkway to meet Will. Parked at the Galleria and walked the 8/10ths of a mile across the pedestrian bridge to the ballpark. I carried Shivonne most of the way. Arrived in time to receive the stadium giveaway: the Money Mike gold chain. Both girls loved playing with their chains.
We walked all the way around the concourse and posed for a picture with Blooper.
Rode the escalator up to the third deck. As we were walking to our seats I bumped my arm, and it started bleeding. Will insisted I go to the nearby first aid booth to get a bandaid. That turned into a 15 minute ordeal. By then the cut had stopped bleeding.
The girls were well behaved. Eleven month old Millie was her usual delightful self, smiling and clapping.
Shivonne kept on the lookout for Blooper. They enjoyed the between innings videos and music, and feasted on the snacks that Will had brought.
Later Will bought Shivvy a ice cream sandwich, with the ice cream between two chocolate chip cookies. She polished it off without making too much of a mess.
The Braves lineup was without three All Stars: Acuna, Riley, and Murphy. Couple of times they threw the ball around like the 1962 Mets – quite uncharacteristic for the Braves. Shivonne has been to several games (Millie too) but it was the first time they saw the Braves lose.
On the walk back to the car Will had Millie strapped into the baby carrier on his chest, and carried Shivonne piggyback on his shoulders. As it was, today I am feeling the hernia-like pain in my abdomen again, so I skipped the gym this morning.
Shivonne had a big day on Wednesday: that morning she had visited Ceil at Ceil’s last day of school. Will and Millie were there as well.
On the drive home there was a bad wreck at the corner of Upper Roswell and Old Canton, blocking 4 lanes of both roads. This morning there was a fallen tree being cleared on Riverside Drive in Roswell, east of GA400.
