ESPN is calling Nikola Jokic “the best passer in NBA history”. What about Magic Johnson? Larry Bird? Pete Maravich? Stockton? Bill Walton? Bob Cousy? Sabonis? Even Mark Jackson. Jason Williams. Some say Chris Paul. Ernie DiGregorio. Rick Barry. Jason Kidd. Jokic may not make the top ten. Some say he isn’t even the best passer from a former Yugoslavian country. The other night Jokic had 4 turnovers and posted a -16.
Monday: worked until 620 finishing up a project. C baked breaded chicken tenders and French fries, tossed a salad, and fixed corn on the cobb. A feast. Watched Jeopardy and The Voice. Played on my laptop. Took Winnie for a short walk.
Tuesday: up early to lift weights at the gym. Tried to take it easy.
At work we had breakfast burritos from Jason’s Deli, in honor of safety emphasis week. We all wore our new safety t-shirts. In a related manner, on Sunday afternoon when I was swapping out my winter clothes for summer, I tossed about ten old work t-shirts into the giveaway pile. Also about 6 old pairs of pants – all too big or too long. Still have several pairs of nice pants that I hardly ever wear.
Sometimes you just know something is going to be a fiasco. A hot part last Thursday wasn’t ready to ship until early Friday. I hadn’t been involved. Carey had told Vanessa that receiving could stay over to wait. Then as the truck was bening set up Carey asked V to ask our guys to stay. I knew they were leaving at 1 pm, and the truck wouldn’t arrive until after 4 pm. I told V how these things always take longer than you’d expect. One of our guys volunteered to stick around.
Then at 4 pm the truck was still 35 minutes out, stuck in traffic. My volunteer had to pick up his child at 415. No one remaining at the plant to unload. The two guys I knew couldn’t come back. Our vendors in Thomson and Conyers were gone. The truck had other commitments, and couldn’t hold the load over the weekend for Monday delivery. What could we do?
I talked to my guys here in our plant. If the truck could make it back to Norcross before 10 pm, we could unload here. We had guys working on Saturday, so another truck could pick up Saturday morning and deliver early Monday, when parts were needed. I even had a backup plan in case the truck arrived after 10 pm – the tube laser building could unload. My plan worked! With all this extra SAP work thrown on me, it was good to be able to get back to resolving impossible problems like this.
Saturday I hit the points threshold at RaceTrac to receive a free soft drink / frozen drink / coffee every day. I had vowed that I would start drinking the Vitamin Water, and I have, mixing in a little Gatorade or Mtn Dew for taste. I’ve been 5 straight days and at least 6 of the past 7, not sure. But what I need to start doing is start getting gas at BP, where I get 15 cents off per gallon.
Before the demonstrations began on college campuses, outsiders came in to train the students on how to protest. These outsiders were funded by the same people who funded previous BLM and other protests, demonstrations, and riots.
