Charlie Trippi passed away this week. UGA retired his number. All America and college football hall of fame. Pro football hall of fame. Ever see him play? My friend Reid did.
Will and Shivonne walked down to see M tossing dough this week at Monday Night Garage. Matthew rocking the toque.
Friday night Ceil whipped up a homemade pizza of her own.
Clemson outscored Syracuse 17-0 in the second half, thanks to freshman sensation Cade Klubnek and a lucky no-call on an out of bounds hit on the Orangeman QB.
RB Shipley lost a fumble for the first time in his career. Must've been the pink gloves.
Anna at work.Shivonne was a delight at our Saturday evening gathering, before tiring from all the excitement.
Matthew brought the beer, and talked grilling with the chef.
Had the whole fam there, plus lots of additional friends. More on the gathering this week.Soapbox: I work for a steel distributer. Pretty old school. An office of mostly white men and women, though we work to diversify. Plant full of good old boys of various races. Good salt of the earth folk. Human resources and accounting are our most diverse departments. This food truck coming in next week is greatly appreciated, though the menu seems far more diverse than our employees: veggie burgers, vegetarian potato salad, vegetarian baked beans. I’m not a fan of wings. Food trucks are cool, but the serving sizes are small, especially for the plant guys, who can put away the food. No seconds off the food trucks. The thought is appreciated, but since it’s on the day I work from home, the lunch isn’t worth the effort for me to drive in. Next time the plant has a meal (like at Thanksgiving), HR needs to observe.
R.A. DICKEY [SABR Bio] drew praise from Knucksie, “I don’t know if any other knuckleballer has ever been on a hot streak like he has been”. Niekro was referring to Dickey’s 2012 with the NYM when Dickey had led the NL in starts, complete games, shutouts, batters faced & strikeouts. Dickey was a member of Team USA at the 1996 Olympics, winning a bronze medal in Atlanta. Dickey started two games, winning both. He was an Academic All-American at the University of Tennessee, majoring in English literature with a 3.35 GPA.
STEVE BEDROSIAN [SABR Bio] led the majors in saves for a team with a losing record. Bedrosian played for MIN in 1991. Had 40 saves for the 80-82 Phillies in 1987. Bedrosian played for the University of New Haven, whose sports equine mascot is Charlie the Charger. Son Cam Bedrosian was drafted by the Angels in the 1st round (29th overall) of the 2010 MLB June Amateur Draft. He last pitched in MLB in 2021 for the Phillies.
I knew this photo reminded me of something.

Ohio State has played one team with a winning record: Toledo.Saturday morning I early voted on the way home from golf. Not a long line.
I had always heard the term "vote early and often" but never knew the origin, until I looked it up. All the more appropriate today.
Lately I've been saving additional content for the end of the week, then dividing up leftover content into three posts for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday since I rarely have time to create quality posts. Today I added a few photos from this weekend, but saved much of the weekend goings-on until they can be properly written up.
