Took off this morning to get in 18 holes of golf. Then I timed my drive wrong, and arrived later than I'd wanted. When I pulled up early bird Jee had parked on the street. He was late as well. A threesome was teeing off from the tips. Jee suggested we hike over and start on the third hole, so we played 3-4-5-6-7-8-9-1-2 together.
I played three then teed off on four. There was a fellow ahead of me hitting drive after drive off the 6th tee. I played 4 and 5 and he was still wandering around the 6th fairway trying to find all his balls amongst the fallen leaves, a tough chore. I doubled back and played 4 and 5 again, then 6, 7, 8, and 9 to complete 18 holes. Took enough extra shots for it to be considered 27 holes. Finished at about 10:15 am.
Since I had the entire morning off, I swung by McDonalds for a free frappe and next door to Checkers for a free order of fries. Then Dollar Tree and MicroCenter, and RaceTrac and three thrift stores. Nine stops. Almost six miles of walking and 14,000 steps.
Small group last night with leader John and Reid. I Thessalonians 4:11 "Aspire to live quietly, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you".
Today is (1) a full moon, (2) a "blood moon", (3) a total lunar eclipse, and (4) election day. What could go wrong? Good thing I voted early.
That Stetson is something. Named SEC Offensive Player of the Week. Named to the Manning Stars of the Week, and to the Davey O'Brien Award Great Eight. Then went down to Tallahassee and beat FSU in basketball.
On October 30th 49er RB Christian McCaffrey became the 11th player in NFL history to (10 rush for a TD, (2) make a TD catch, and (3) throw a TD pass in the same game. Others who did this include Walter Payton, Frank Gifford, and the Falcons' Harmon Wages.
A TikToker faces criminal charges for hitting a golf ball into the Grand Canyon.
More bad social media on my feed:
1. A professor of theology / campus minister to students is told the presentation he had sponsored was only average, lacking scripture. The minister responded by personally attacking his friend. Maybe he should run for a political office.
2. Someone else posted that they struggled with considering themselves invalid. When asked where such thoughts may have originated, the posted blamed it on their Baptist upbringing. In my many years of receiving instruction in Baptist churches, I can think of no teaching or preaching calling people invalid. Perhaps their experience was different. All may have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, but God demonstrated His love for us, that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Finished the book "The War on the West" exposing many untruths about the attacks and blame on life in the US, like people still mad about slavery in the 1700s and 1800s. Nothing about the slavery that existed in other parts of the world both before and after slavery in the US. India enslaved ten times more Africans, castrating and killing them, then enslaving more. Currently there are many more people enslaved around the world than there were in 1800s America. In the Middle East people of color are still referred to as slaves. Nothing about the human rights abuses in China. A key point of the book was that these people calling out the sins of the US never look inwardly at their own failings and sins, instead blaming their problems on others.
A Christian perspective on the midterm elections.

DENISON: scripture is clear: "Whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin" (James 4:17).
Oswald Chambers on when a person comes to Christ: "that second the supernatural life of God invades him instantly. The dominating power of the world, the flesh, and the devil is paralyzed, not by your act, but because your act has linked you on to God and his redemptive power"
Cool pair of Puma boots. Not sure what I'd wear them with.
Mark 3:33-35: And Jesus answered them, "Who are my mother and brothers?" Looking about at those who sat around Him, Jesus said " Here are my mother and brothers! For whoever does the will of God, he is my brother and sister and mother".
