Catch & Release

Last Friday night Ceil wanted to watch the Jennifer Garner movie Catch & Release. Not exactly her kind of flick, nor mine. In fact several months ago I had started watching the movie, but turned it off after a few minutes. Not recommended.

GT's 3rd string QB played well, and scored on the last play of the game. GT almost scored 2 or 3 other TDS, and the poor defense seemed to be on the field the whole game. Could’ve been a closer game than it was. Still gonna be a long season. Too many dumb penalties. Offsides, unsportsmanlike conduct, etc.

GA/FL: at halftime I went out and raked leaves, so I got in my 10,000 steps on Saturday. Got back inside and the score was 28-20. My fault the Gators made a run. Good no call on running into the Florida punter Crawshaw, since he took several steps outside the tackle box before punting.

Later we watched KY@Tenn. Herbstreit loves the Vols. He had them at one and his beloved Buckeyes number two. Tennessee deserves the number one ranking, but the Dawgs are favored to beat them. But with injuries to the defense the Dawgs will have to be at their best to win. Buckeyes beat Penn State, but I’m not sure they deserve the number two ranking. On Saturday UGA scored more points and gave up fewer points than OSU. It’ll all work itself out by early December.

Not much news. Last night I worked past 6 pm, and stopped by Steak & Shake on the way home. Burger fries and a shake. Too much. M cooked black beans.

Ran 4 miles at the gym this morning. Oatmeal then later M’s leftover pizza. Supper tonight was the leftover black beans.

KYLE “Skinny” GRAHAM [Wiki Bio] (Not to be confused with Arthur William “Skinny” Graham) started for Detroit at home against the Yankees on August 14, 1929, this 30th birthday. He played for the Little Rock Travelers in 1923, Graham was born and died in Oak Grove, Alabama. His only career home run came in his third-to-last career at bat, in the second game on 10-Sep-1929(2) at New York, a solo shot to deep right field in the third inning off George Pipgras. In his MLB debut on 03-Sep-1924, the first three batters Graham faced were Heinie Groh, Frankie Frisch & Ross Youngs, the last two eventual hall of famers – as were the final two batters he faced in his career, on 12-Sep-1929: Jimmie Foxx and Al Simmons.

Starting pitchers who were given 15 runs of support on their birthday.
