Will Bama Crash the Playoff?

Interesting college football rankings this week. Bama moved ahead of Tennessee and LSU, setting the stage for them to sneak into the playoff should one of the top four falter. And a key Michigan Wolverine was just arrested this week. The Vols' low rank was caused by star QB Hendon Hooker being out for the season.

1. Georgia

2. Michigan

3. TCU

4. USC

5. Ohio State

6. Alabama

7. Tennessee "underrated"

8. Penn State

9. Clemson "still too high" say some

10. Kansas State

Interesting on-line movie, titled "Died Suddenly" about all the "random" young people who are passing away unexpectedly. Just this morning I heard of a young country singer Jake Flint, who recently died in his sleep. He was 37. Reminds me of the phrase "will coincidences ever cease".

Psalm 46: God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

THURMAN MUNSON  [SABR Biowas the first catcher to win the American League Rookie of the Year Award, in 1970, one vote away from being unanimous. He was the first post-expansion American League player to hit .300+ with 100+ RBI for three consecutive seasons. From 1975 through 1977, Munson posted .318/102; .302/105; & .308/100 respectively. National Leaguers Willie Mays (1961-1963), Henry Aaron (also 1961-1963), and Bill White (1962‑1964) had all turned this trick earlier. Before last week, he was the only Yankee to win both Rookie of the Year and league MVP. Munson was ROY in 1970. In 1976 he was the AL MVP by a strong majority. Aaron Judge has now duplicated this duplicate feat.

I don't eat super fast. Usually one of the last people to finish, like at Thanksgiving meal and the night before. Even at Waffle House I think I'm slow.

A Christian can quickly lose any influence they have to share Christ when they take bold political stances on social media. Andy Stanley keeps preaching that, but I see many Christians posting divisive things on social media. Not worth it. I know a Christian writer who is always hanging out with his old Baptist buddies, but every weekly article he writes is on the same subject – putting down other Christians for their political views (that are opposite his). When someone takes an opposite stance, the writer attacks and ridicules his opponent.
