FSU struggled up at Boston College, who always plays teams tough. The Noles might’ve been looking past BC, but they’ll be focused on Clemson. The Tigers aren’t quite the juggernaut they used to be. QB Klubnik is improving, but has yet to face a defense like FSU.
Clemson needs to pound the ball with the running game. Difference in the game may come down to Clemson’s redshirt freshman kicker Robert Gunn III, who has struggled so far this season. Looks like to me Gunn is trying to hard on the short kicks, instead of using a nice easy swing. Not sure I would trust a kicker with “GUNN III” on his jersey.
Saturday night ACC Network announcers Wes Durham and Matt Hassleback called the Clemson game. They questioned Dabo’s policy of not using the transfer portal to Clemson’s advantage. Good question. Fun fact: Hasselback’s father played on the Patriots with DT Julius Adams, from Macon GA. Adams grandson now plays for Clemson – as does the son of former Falcon RB Jamal Anderson.
Both Gunn and QB Klubnik are Christians. Dabo seems to attract players who have faith in God.

Blessed Trinity is over near where C lives. A couple of Will’s baseball teammates played for BT, which I think is across from Fellowship Christian Academy, which is back behind Fellowship Christian Church in west Roswell. Actually not far from the new Roswell High, where we used to go see fireworks on July 4. Got all that?
That fighter jet that mysteriously disappeared last weekend crashed just south of Florence, while we were 80-something miles away in Jefferson.
The other morning I was getting ready and our smoke detector went off for a few seconds. Very Loud. C didn’t wake up.
Lenox Square opened in 1959. As a kid I used to have to come up to an allergist, whose office was at Lenox Square on the outside not far from where Muses used to be. I remember Lenox in its original state, with the open areas and the Colonial grocery store. As I’ve said my mom grew up in a large house at the corner of Peachtree and Stratford, which later became the Church of Christ Scientist. My Uncle John Way Sr lived a couple of doors down Stratford. Later Uncle John lived on Northside Drive, not a mile north of West Paces. His son John Jr was Ed Dodd’s inspiration for his comic strip character Mark Trail, though John Jr looked nother like Trail. My grandmother lived further down Stratford, across from Mr. Key.
At Anna’s wedding we should’ve taken a photo with the Murphys and Schaefers, with W&MC and MC’s brother Thomas and wife Holly, and both Thomas’ and Holly’s parents the Gilberts and Smiths, plus Caroline Hargraeves & fiancé, and Reid & Edie Whitaker.
Milkshakes are expensive these days. Might as well go to Kroger and buy a quart of ice cream. And the milkshakes most places serve these days aren’t very large. But milkshakes are good. I have refrained from buying the Wendys keytag to get a tiny free Frosty with every purchase. Maybe next year. A ranking:

JOE BORCHARD [B-R Bio] had the longest run from scrimmage for the Stanford University football team in 1998. He was instrumental in helping Stanford to a 37-34 football win over North Carolina, Borchard entered the game with less than a minute to play in the 4rth quarter after starting QB Todd Husak was injured. Borchard scrambled 41 yards to the UNC 4yard line to set up the winning field goal. Borchard also played baseball as an outfielder & was inducted into the Stanford Athletics Hall of Fame in 2023. Stanford’s mascot is neither a bird nor a religious title, nor even an actual mascot, but a color. Stanford U has a long and often confusing history of its athletic teams’ nicknames. His $5.3 million signing bonus from the White Sox in 2000 was the highest ever until Justin Upton received $6.1 million to sign with Arizona in 2005.
