Watched a really good movie on Amazon Prime: “Seven Days in Utopia”. Robert Duvall played an old retired pro golfer from Texas who schools a young pro on the mental aspects of the game. KJ Choi has a small role but doesn’t speak, just glares. A blatantly Christian message presented expertly: SPT stood for the golf thought process of SFT – see the ball, Anyway SFT stood for see the ball, feel the shot, trust the process – but also see God’s face, feel God’s presence, and Trust his love. At the end of the movie the young golfer strikes a putt. If it goes in he wins the tourney – but since the movie is about how life is more important than winning and losing, they don’t show if the ball goes in. You have to go to www.didhemaketheputt.com to find out, where the Christian message is presented.
Sunday night the old western Hallmark Channel show When Calls the Heart had a storyline involving a church choir – but they changed the words of an old classic gospel song to make it less Christian.
For national cheeseburger day McDonalds offered 50 cent double cheeseburgers. Probably created more ill will than good. I’m sure McDonalds all over the country were jammed. Service already wasn’t usually good, and this bargain just made it worse. I waited 35 minutes to get my burger. Drive thru was jammed so I went inside. Good thing I paid attention as my order number dropped off the screen.
I ”love” me the McDonalds app. Always use it to get a deal, like free fries, plus points. I save up the points to get a frappachino. Luckily I haven’t been going to McDonalds as much as I used to.
Did I tell you that last week I went through the Wendys drive-thru. Service was fast, but when I got back to work and opened up my sandwich wrapper, it had everything I ordered -= bacon, cheese, catsup, mustard, lettuce, tomato – but no meat patty!

JIM PALMER [SABR Bio] is the only pitcher with a World Series game victory in three separate decades: won G 2 1966; G 1 1970; G 2 1971; & G 3 1983. He pitched a record 3,948 innings in the majors without allowing a grand slam. He’s happy to talk with anyone about it, but he’s unlikely to mention this. He threw the first shutout of the Seattle Pilots and was the first pitcher to no-hit the newly-relocated Oakland A’s. Mariner shutout on SEP 07-Jun-1969. No-hit the A’s 13-Aug-1969.
Worked past 6 pm Monday evening. Ceil cooked chili and tossed a salad. Earlier I’d had donuts at work. Later I had ice cream. Late before bed I had an upset stomach. Had to skip the gym because of it.
