Three Cupcakes

GT game was delayed over two hours so it was hard to find on TV. Jackets led 28-7 at the half and breezed to a win. Didn't they used to play football in the rain?

Joe Hamilton was a great college QB but as an announcer sounds like Augustus Gloomp eating fudge. Repeats himself. Not concise. GT program not yet at the point where anyone should consider any game to be a sure win, but that was Joe's approach.

Tech's uniforms looked good in the sunshine and dark wet field. Coach Key going with the traditional gold helmets white jersey gold britches.

GT kicker Gavin Stewart missed his third straight field goal. 0-3 for the season. No improvement since last year.

GT QB looks good again. Maybe I'll learn his name in another week or two. He went 6-7 in the first quarter, then hit a bomb to extend lead to 21-0. Jackets look faster this year, at RB and WR. Running more fast developing plays instead of holding the ball in the backfield reading the defense, which is another big improvement.

Charleston Southern 14 Clemson 7 in the first quarter. What's wrong with Clemson? Only led 24-17 at the half before scoring four straight TDs in the third quarter.

Before each home game Dabo leads his team as they run down the hill onto the field. Coach Swinney says he never stretches beforehand, just like a dog never stretches before chasing a squirrel.

Charleston Southern helmet stripes are gold navy gold with white spaces between the stripes. Jersey stripes are navy gold navy with no space between stripes. No stripes on pants. Things like that drive me crazy.

UGA led 31-0 at the half. Won 45-3. Had to settle for a field goal after a bad call nullified a TD. Dawgs top WR still out. Another WR had to play RB due to so many injuries in the backfield. All three UGA QB's played again. Bulldog defense had three interceptions in the first half.

Former GT QB Jeff Sims had 7 turnovers in his first 6 quarters playing for Nebraska. Finally answered with a 50+ yard TD run, for the Huskers only score. Nebraska lost to Deion's Colorado squad.

Texas beat Bama by ten in Tuscaloosa. Wow. Bama QB a dangerous runner, but his passing seemed suspect. Saban's first double digit home loss in his college coaching history. Both teams represent formidable opponents for UGA.

First ever meeting between Auburn and Cal. The son of former Falcons kicker Mick Luckhurst is Cal's kicker - following in his father's footsteps. Last week the War Eagles wore navy face masks. This week they switched to white.

Saturday morning I parred 3 of the first 6 holes - the three longest holes of the six, including the par three 5th (below).

Tired. After golf I did some laundry, ran the mower through the woods behind our house. Always an exhausting task. Looks much better. Trimmed tree branches and hauled off the debris. Later I mowed the lawn. Did some organizing in the garage. Didn't watch quite as much football as I would've liked. A 16000 step day.

Met with missionaries from Poland Saturday night. Dessert was served.

Monday M leaves for a week in Mexico City. He has a 9 hour layover in Houston.
