The Popeyes Report

Coworker Lewis went to Popeyes for lunch. Took him the whole hour. They were out of sandwiches. Manager said the best time to get them was at 9 am. They don’t open until ten.

Got a full time job at Popeyes standing outside with a sign reading “We’re Out of Sandwiches.” Job also doubles as a bouncer, so I have to rough up unruly customers (Rob: .”I’m a civil rights lawyer, over at the other door informing people of their right to chicken done right.”).

Under the big permanent Chickfila sign outside each restaurant it reads CLOSED ON SUNDAY. Under the Popeyes signs it reads WE”RE OUT OF SANDWICHES.

Went to Popeyes. After 3 hours I got my sandwich. Asked for BBQ sauce but they were out.

Chickfila: We didn’t invent the chicken. Just the chicken sandwich.
Burger King: Have it your way.
McDonalds: You deserve a break today.
Popeyes: We’re out of sandwiches.

News: new vacation policy just came out. Next year I get five weeks instead of four.

We had Thanksgiving dinner last night. Ceil had brought home a bunch of leftovers from her school’s turkey dinner earlier in the day. Turkey, dressing, corn, cookies. I skipped the mashed potatoes but brought them today with the other leftovers.

Ceil has been going to the local YMCA for the past few years. Yesterday after work was the first time I ever went. After work I changed clothes and met C there. All I did was walk on the treadmill. I’d never walked on one before. They don’t have a track I guess. Walked about 2-1/2 miles, about 51 minutes. Felt weird when I stopped. It was like me head was still moving though my body wasn’t.  The treadmill said I walked a little further than my watch said. The stride my watch thinks I take might be a little short. I tried to take it easy but I walked 3.2 miles per hour. My heartbeat went no higher than 112. When I walk uphill to the Braves game my heartbeat might reach 150.

Need to go to the Y every day after work since we really don’t do that much at night. The Y was more crowded when we left at 730 than at 615 when we arrived. But won’t go tonight…

Left leg a little worse for wear after walking. Not sure but in the past week or two the veins / possible blood clots have gotten worse. Tomorrow morning I’m having a doctor check it out. Not sure it the tightness is blood clots spreading or what. Hope to make it in to work for the BBQ lunch meeting.

Got home last night and watched New Amsterdam and Chicago Med. Anna is learning life skills.

DAZZY VANCE [SABR Bio] was the first National League pitcher to win an MVP - 1924 MVP for BRO. He could hardly be denied. He led the majors, not just the NL in wins, ERA, complete games, Ks, ERA+, FIP, WHIP, H9, SO9 & SO/W. He was the first pitcher to win his league’s ERA title by >1.00 run. His ERA of 2.61 was 1.26 runs better than runner-up Carl Hubbell n 1930. His teammates called him “Dead Shot” because he backed up his boasts about his prowess with a revolver by slicing a card in 2 edgewise & shooting through the bottom of a bottle w/o breaking the neck.
