Friday

Last night we were watching old family videos, including SPdL choir photos of Anna and Will singing with Joel and Charles Norman, and Margaret and Haley Hurt. Also Talaat’s daughter, and others.

I worked until after 6 pm. Grilled chicken, green beans, and baked potatoes for supper. Watched Jeopardy, Young Sheldon, and So What About Todd.

Food here at work today. Hot dogs, dips and chips, sandwiches, brownies, breakfast dishes, donuts, salads, I brought Cokes. Here at work Ben brought a crock pot dip made from velvitta cheese, ground beef, and rotel tomatoes. Very good. I put it on my hot dog. Someone else did as well.

Applebees has been advertising all you can eat boneless wings and fries for $15.00, which has been tempting me. Except I really can’t eat more than a regular order anyway, like ten, even without the fries. I need to hold off until after the wedding anyway.

I skipped the gym all week to get back my strength. Still have a little bit of a cough. But will play golf in the AM shouldn’t be too cold.

Gonna be a busy weekend. Golf in the morning, though M drove off with the car holding my clubs. Might meet a guy to give him all my Sports Illustrateds, so I may have to load them up tonight. Got other errands and housework for tomorrow.

Athens on Sunday afternoon after church. Haven’t heard anything about anyone having a Super Bowl Party…have you ???  Not sure if C will cook pizza or burgers. We really don’t need anything after eating that afternoon.

BOB MEUSEL [SABR Bio] was the first California native to lead the American League in home runs, in 1925, beating out Babe Ruth. He was born on 19-Jul-1896 in San Jose, CA. Another dozen Golden Staters have since joined him, including Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, Craig Nettles, Eddie Murray, Dwight Evans, Darrell Evans, Mark McGwire, Cecil Fielder, Troy Glaus, Mark Trumbo, Khris Davis & Aaron Judge. Meusel was on winning World Series teams in 1923, 1927 & 1928. Was on the losing side 1921, 1922 & 1926. He is the only player to steal home twice in the World Series, in 1921 G 2 (8th inning), and 1928 G 3 (6th inning).

DENISON: the "He Gets Us" campaign is spending roughly $20 million for a 60 second Super Bowl commercial—with plans to invest about a billion dollars over the next three years.

ME: others say the ads misrepresent Jesus, who was never an actual refugee. Supposedly the ads say nothing of Jesus dying so that all may have eternal life in heaven.
