Christmas Cards

Thursday I stayed at work until after 645, addressing all our Christmas cards. Hope you receive it before Christmas. I always enjoy sending out Christmas cards, though several of the people we send them to we have absolutely no contact with otherwise. It is always such a rush to get them designed, ordered, and mailed. I like to hand address my cards as well. I have finally caved and use return address stickers.

I lean on Anna to design the card, though she is so busy. She also designed her card, as well as the card for Mary-Clayton’s mother. Both Ceil and I want to send a more Christ-oriented card, but Ceil drags her feet worse than I do. I hate it when cards deliver after Christmas.

Left work. (1) dropped off giveaways at Goodwill. Usually I will then browse the store, but it was so late. (2) then to the bank. (3) Then the post office. Traffic was backed up. (4) the GPS routed me through Dunwoody. (5) Stopped by QT for air for my tires, but a car was parked by the meter, lights on and running – but not moving. Another car was already waiting for air, so after a few minutes I gave up. (5) Stopped at another convenience store instead. Almost 8 pm when I got home.

Supper was grilled chicken, baked okra, and spicy rice. Watched Death in Paradise.

Friday: skipped the gym. Not finishing the year strong. Stopped at McDonalds for a bacon egg & cheese biscuit for a dollar. I took off at 11 am. Swung by our company’s subcontractor RayPaul Coatings in Marietta to pick up a big gift basket from Antwon and Danny, who I've been working with for years, but rarely get to see.

Friday afternoon Ceil and I drove to Belton SC for our niece’s first annual oyster roast. Anna and Caleb are also attending. Huge crowd. Drove back late.

Lunch yesterday at El Porton Mexican with the guys.

Saw highlights of Saturday Night Live. Host Martin Short had a big opening number, and joined the 5 Timers Club. He was welcomed by club members Tom Hanks, Paul Rudd, Kristin Wiig, Scarlett Johansson, Alec Baldwin, Melissa McCarthy, John Mulaney, Tina Fey, and coat boy Jimmy Fallon.

Sunday School was a pot luck sweet & savory gathering.

I may not be working any more for the rest of the year. Not sure.
