The Playoff is Set

Ready to pick some bowl games? I gotta start researching. The bowls start this weekend. Also Army Navy.

Since the top 4 conference winners get a first round bye (including UGA), it is the next 4 teams (#5, #6, #7, & #8) that host first round games. Notre Dame could not be ranked higher than 5 since they are not in a conference. Texas has not beaten a ranked team all year but did make the conference championship game by beat everyone on their weak schedule except UGA.

Clemson was lucky to beat SMU. The Ponies turned it over and played poorly in the first half. Tigers had a 17 point lead but allowed SMU to come back. Had it not been for that first quarter, Clemson wouldn’t have been in position to win it with a 56 yard field goal. After the game Dabo knew he was lucky. Texas will be much harder for Clemson to beat.

BAD NEWS: starting to look like bother Beck and punter Thorson will not be able to play in the postseason.

Black helmet and pants. White jerseys. Maybe the Falcons would play better if they didn’t wear the same exact uniforms as the Jaguars. The Panthers lost again – wearing black helmets and socks, colored pants, and white jerseys. I still say dark football pants is a high school look.

I’ve got so much on my plate that stuff has been piling up. Worked Saturday on personal stuff for several hours but didn’t finish half my list. Since JFBC wasn’t having a normal service but instead baptizing students, yesterday I went in to the office to do more personal stuff. Insurance claims, paying bills, etc. Got more done. Got home at 2 pm and worked around the house.

Our friends had spent almost 3 months in Spain. They returned yesterday, and C just had to go see them. Our other friends went over as well. Saturday we’d gone over to the Halls to watch the UGA game. So this will be two straight weeks without much of a break. Got stuff to do Wednesday and Friday night. Go go go.

Sunday night pancakes. Lifted weights at the gym this morning.

Giants Hall of Famers who also played for the Dodgers.

DENISON: when 60 Minutes reported on Notre Dame’s reconstruction, there was virtually no reference to the structure as a place of worship. Since less than 2% of people in France attend Sunday mass and only 44% believe in God, this is less surprising than it might appear. Secularism is advancing across Europe and America; as many as 100,000 churches in the US will likely close in the next few decades.
