When I was going to bed Wednesday night I checked the weather, and realized the overnight low was only going to be 47 degrees. So I loaded my clubs back in the car and drove down to play golf on Thursday morning. Got a late start, and didn’t tee off until 708 am. Played the light up balls on the first three holes, though they don’t travel as far. Made three pars. Some highlights…
1. Decent 6 iron off tee. Hit a couple of good chips.
2. Decent 6 iron off tee. One of 3 chips stuck on the fringe. Two putt for bogey.
3. Two fair 7 irons. A decent chip. Sank the putt for a “par”.
4. Hit a 7 iron to the front fringe. Hit 3 good lag putts. Par.
5. Three poor 6 irons off tee. One of my 3 chips was good.
6. Hit a real nice hybrid off the tee. Flubbed the mulligan. Hit one good 5 iron out of three. Chipped one of 3 onto the green. “Bogey”.
7. Hit another good hybrid, then a decent 6 iron. Hit three chips, and one of the ugly ones rolled onto the green. Hit a couple of good lag putts. “Bogey”.
8. I thought I hit a decent driver, but never found it. Hit 2 of 3 chips to the back fringe. Another “Par”.
9. Thought I hit a good hybrid but never found it. Hit one of 2 chips okay. Good lag. Closing bogey.
It appeared that I was the only fool out on the course. The wind wasn’t too biting, but it did make it chillier. Wore my winter wool Braves cap with the built in ear flaps. Worked pretty good. For the record it was the 50th time I have played this year. Finished at 830 and made it to work 45 minutes later.
Thursday: since I arrived to work late after playing golf, I worked past 6 pm. Started a project at 552 that took me past six. Ceil found the TV remote that had been lost.
Slow evening. Leftovers for supper. Fridge still crammed.
Cold cold cold. Lifted weights at the gym this morning. Wore my fingerless gloves at the office. A slow day to do some catching up.

PAUL MOLITOR [SABR Bio] is the only player to reach base in an All-Star game via catcher’s interference, in the 1991 ASG in Toronto. Molitor pinch-hit for Wade Boggs in the 7th inning & reached on catcher’s interference [Watch at 2:34:35]. Craig Biggio was behind the plate. Molitor holds the record for most hits in a season when he turned 40: He led the AL w/225 in 1996. Playing for Milwaukee in 1982, Molitor had 5 hits in the game one of the World Series. The Brewers lost that Series to STL. Darrell Porter was named MVP. Eleven years later in the 1993 WS, Molitor excelled for TOR. Molitor was the runner on first base and scored the winning run on Joe Carter’s walkoff HR.
