More on BP

More on my rant yesterday on hitting. Last night I went to an equipment meeting at the world famous East Cobb baseball. The guy leading it was quite full of himself (he must figure the 144 national championships gives him the right). He said that $300.00 composite bats won’t last the season if the player used it in BP “50 swings a day, 6 days a week, January through August”. By the way, Will’s team that doesn’t practice hitting…cancelled practice today.

Last night I was looking at Facebook baseball photos of Will’s old teammate Willie, who just started class at UGA. Abby Freund was tagged in one of the pictures.

TV: Catch the ABC show “Shaq Vs.”…I think it’s on tonight. Pretty funny.

I remember Ed Dudley the ref….dad of former Walton High AD / football coach. Funny story from Reid below. The older men in the Baptist Sunday School weren’t the type to take notes…

When Ed Dudley Sr was my SS teacher he used to stay busy refereeing football games. One Sunday, he came in and said that he had just arrived from a game in Alabama and had not had time to prepare the lesson. But, he had jotted down some notes while driving in on the subject "5 Lessons To Learn From Bear Bryant". Immediately, everyone (all men) began whipping out pens and pencils to take notes. One of the best lessons we ever had.
