Another Series Win

Braves reliever Luke Jackson has pitched in 25 games. Here’s his stats from his last 24: 1.63 ERA, 27-2/3 inn pitched 5 runs 6 BB 41 strikeouts .131 opp avg

Pitchers pitching well but not getting the win. Wonder how many more wins Maddux would’ve had. But know what? Yesterday Teheran was awarded a Quality Start.

Soroka won another game. Back when Fernando Valenzuela came into the league he was a media sensation, but Soroka’s run has been more outstanding. If Soroka were pitching in NYC or LA he would’ve already been on the cover of Sports Illustrated and ESPN the Magazine.
Same with rookie of the month Austin Riley, whose tear has been more sensational than anything Aaron Judge ever did. Plus Riley signed autographs for the kids before games, and visits sick kids in the hospital. In Gwinnett he hung out with season ticket holders before games.

Dansby is maturing as a hitter. On pace for 33 home runs. Showing everyone why he was the number one overall draft pick, and why he made it to the majors a couple of years ahead of schedule. Must be the striped socks. And even before this season so many social media experts were calling for Swanson to be traded. Freddie is on pace for over 40 home runs.
Another bee delay - this time in San Diego.

News flash: the reigning Jeopardy champ lost tonight.
Anna made it back to Georgia this evening.

Semi-busy weekend. Friday night Ceil made meatballs. Saturday morning small group. We got company coming in next Friday, so we were cleaning up the rest of the day. Plus dishes and laundry. Filled my car with stuff for Goodwill.

Saturday night we went over to a friends house. Cooked ribs on the grill, which fell off the bone. Baked beans. Raw vegetables and dip.  Chips and salsa. Kale salad. Ceil made her hot potato salad. Cobbler with ice cream for dessert. Wine and beer. Played a fun game called “Night of the Werewolf.” After a slow start I tied for first place.

Sunday School and worship. Grilled vegetables and rice for lunch, plus fresh fruit. Went for a haircut, and gassed up Ceil’s car.  Watched some Braves and the end of the Memorial golf. Cleared out emails. Researched credit cards and cable TV options. Cheese quesadillas for supper. Kept up with the basketball game.

NBA: would be nice if Toronto could put up a little fight. Think it was expected that the Warriors would win game one. If the Raptors were going to win one, you’d think it would be at home.

The Grizz Gaming sticker…gotta find a place of honor for it. Not long ago I bought a Gwinnett Stripers sticker. Was thinking about putting it on my car but the car is looking good with no stickers on it. If I were driving M’s Jeep I’d slap both stickers on there real quick.

The Brewers traveled all wearing Air Uecker t-shirts. Available at www.moteefe.com (grey XXL).

Sibling rivalry is surely not Christian behavior, but at that young age what child is a mature Christian? Shoot, I still struggle thinking and acting as I should.

President Trump made a last minute appearance at McLean Bible Church on the way to the golf course, where David Platt prayed over him. In late April Platt led the worldwide Secret Church we had attended. As usual, various Christians took to social media to argue over the tiniest details of the event.
