Celebrating 715

Monday night the Braves celebrated the 50th anniversary of Hank Aaron's record-breaking 715th home run. Reid, Shawn, and I met up with Rob in the first base ramps shortly after 6 pm. We donned our #44 t-shirts and grabbed a baseball sign - and waited.

Another stroll underneath the stands, past a large shipment that had just arrived.
Katie Wood (left) and Reid preceeded me onto the field.
That's me in right center, closest to the 375 mark, in khakis. Just behind me on the warning track, Charlie Morton warmed up.
In 1974 the Braves employed ball girls to chase foul balls. In their honor, 50 ball girls lined the bases.
Three winners of the Hank Aaron Award were introduced: Andruw Jones, Ronald Acuna, and Ryan Howard.
Hank's great-grandson King threw out the first pitch. He bounced it, but the batboy made a nice backhand snag.
Earlier in the day Dusty Baker, Billye Aaron, and Ralph Garr visited the Atlanta History Center.
Shawn told me to pick the selfie where I looked the best.
Rob said the Braves didn't wear their city connect uniforms on Saturday night because they hadn't come in yet. They wore them Monday instead.
Before the game, New Balance presented Michael Harris with custom cleats. The other side had Hank's number 44.
I liked the back the best.
The night's prize. I sold mine.
Just had to get my picture with mascot security - Will's dream job.
