Most mornings on the way to work, church, or golf I drink my one soft drink for the day: a 12 ounce diet Mtn Dew. Then on the way to work Wednesday I stopped for gas, and cashed in my free soft drink token – another larger diet Mtn Dew. Then for lunch at Duluth Diner I ordered a Coke Zero, and got a refill to go. Finally at Antico Pizza I drank a 20 ounce Coke Zero. So I had trouble sleeping after all that caffeine. Most diet drinks do have caffeine unless they say they are caffeine free. Sprite doesn’t have caffeine though. Mtn Dew has extra caffeine.
At least I don't have my own coffee station, like some people I know.
The past few years I’ve received a Pappas gift card. We’ve been using it at Pappasitos, the Mexican restaurant off Windy Hill Road. Next time we may try Pappadeaux, the cajun seafood restaurant next door. The only thing on the menu I can eat is the chicken tenders.
Shawn said Audible.com had a special on audiobooks. He’s read Dracula, Frankenstein, Jane Eyre, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, and other classics I need to read.
Charles Martin’s The Last Exchange is good. I’m 70% finished. Next up: the bestseller Demon Copperhead, by Barbara Kingsolver. Sounds like a pen name. It’s 21 hours long.
Two team members were on vacation Thursday and Friday. At least it was slow.
The coils we process weigh up to 50,000 pounds. A car weighs what, maybe 3000 pounds? Here’s a short video of coils gone wild. Our plant wears hard hats so if they are crushed by a coil, we can tell where the employee was.

Remote places to visit. Guess they’re not so remote any more.
Why am I always hungry? Triggers, and a solution.
1. I’m tired. Better to nap than eat.
2. I’m stressed. Instead of eating, get a drink.
3. Not getting enough protein or fiber. Eat grains, raw vegetables, or meat/dairy/eggs – not pizza.
4. You’re thirsty. Drink water before eating to reduce intake.
5. Keep your snacks out of sight.

Brian Snitker doesn’t take his family to Phillies games any more, because the crowds are too disrespectful.
Stetson Bennett is expected to participate in offseason workouts with the Rams.

I try to stay away from printers and thermostats. Greek to me.
Is that huge new building in Peachtree Hills a retirement home? I think so. Someone said they had their own chefs there. They do have games and activities. The food might be a step down from what you are used to, not sure. Harriet, the secretary at the GT BSU, was like a mom to all us GT BSUers. When her elderly mother moved to a senior facility, Harriett moved in as well. Harriet was the youngest resident, so she was very popular.
Ceil went to Goodwill and couldn’t believe how nice it was. They’re really cleaned up those store, but the deals aren’t as good as they used to be. A good place to shop for certain items.
GABBY HARTNETT [SABR Bio] was the first catcher to hit 30 home runs in a season. He hit 37 in 1930 for the Cubs. No other catcher had previously hit even 20 HR in a season. He ended his career with the NYG in 1941. He was also the first catcher to hit 20 home runs in a season, with 24 in 1925. At the time of his retirement, he held the catchers’ career records for games, plate appearances, at-bats, hits, singles, doubles, home runs, runs batted in and total bases: G= 1,793; PA = 7,300; AB = 6,432; H = 1,912; 1B = 1,216; 2B = 396; HR = 236; RBI = 1,179; & TB = 3,194. “The Homer in the Gloamin’” is what sportswriters called Hartnett’s home run on 28-Sep-1938. It was hit in the bottom of the 9th as daylight faded from Wrigley Field, winning the game for the Cubs, essentially winning them the NL pennant.
