The 3 Helmet Rule

Next year the NFL will allow teams to have three different helmets. 

PREDICTION: now every team will have both a black helmet and a white helmet. 

Not sure what other color a team would wear. Some teams are happy with their current helmet, like maybe the Raiders. White is the obvious third color for the Falcons. Silver would be nicer, but I'd bet a dollar to a donut that white will be the choice. I'll have to make a list.

When NFL teams can add a third helmet color, what will they add? So many teams already have black or navy helmets. Teams and players think black makes them unique and tougher, when in fact it just makes them blend in. We're already to the point where so many pro and college games pit one team wearing head to toe black / dark against an opponent in head to toe white.   

At least a white helmet can be differentiated with stripes and logos. Both the Rams and Eagles used to wear white helmets. White helmets look best with white facemasks, which blend in. Black helmets look best with black masks. Grey masks look best with other colored helmets.  

Before I begin, a few notes:

Eagles should have a Kelly helmet and a white helmet, but they're a team that will wear black.

49ers used to wear silver helmets. Doubt they'll go back.

Lions will pick black, though white would be better. Hopefully the following teams won't go with black: Dolphins, Patriots, Vikings, Giants Cowboys, Bills, Packers, Seahawks, Rams, 49ers, Buccaneers, Titans, Colts, Texans, Chargers, Chiefs, Browns

Chiefs may just stick to their one red helmet. Wish they would.

Ravens will add a white helmet. A mustard colored helmet would be cool.
