Greatest dual threat quarterback EVER ? The choices were Randall Cunningham, Michael Vick, Steve Young, Lamar Jackson, Cam Newton, or Bills QB Josh Allen. Others nominated included Roger Staubach, Fran Tarkenton, Archie Manning, John Elway, Bobby Douglass, and Kordell Stewart.
To be a good dual threat QB you have to be a good passer, and not just a runner. That rules out a lot of wannabees. My rank:
1. Sammy Baugh won a NFL championship. In 1943 he led the league in several passing categories, intercepted the most passes, and led the league in punting. A real triple threat.
2. Staubach was an elusive runner, and won multiple Super Bowls.
3. Tarkenton revolutionized the game, paving the way for generations of dual threat QB’s to follow.
4. Young won a Super Bowl.
5. Cunningham could pass, run, and punt.
6. Lamar Jackson is the real deal.
7. Vick was something, but wasted his talents. Made it to a NFC championship game.
8. Josh Allen could move up this list.
9. Manning took a beating but kept on scrambling.
10. Elway won a Super Bowl. He could run, but was he really a dual threat?
11. Newton lowered his head and powered his way up the middle. Down on the goal line he called his own number to pad his stats. Maybe he couldn’t count higher than one.
12. Kordell didn’t have a breakout career.
13. Douglass was more of a runner than passer. A lefty like Vick. First QB to rush for 1000 yards in a 14 game season.
Super Bowl: next Friday we’re having a pot luck at the office, with people bringing in chili, sweets, etc. Haven’t heard if anyone is hosting a party for the big game.
The NBA commissioner wants to reduce each quarter from 12 minutes to ten. Think that’s a good idea? What they ought to do is only play the 4th quarter (just a joke, lang don’t @ me).

In 2023 Will and I figured out that Kingsboro Road is a great place to park for the Peachtree Road Race. We probably parked close to the old Whitaker house. Before then I really wasn’t familiar with Kingsboro, and after the race I looked it up on the map.
ROGER MARIS [Wiki Bio] is the only A’s player to hit a grand slam and an inside-the-park home run in the same game, on 03-Aug-1958(1). Maris hit a solo inside-the-park HR off Washington’s Russ Kemmerer in the 3rd. In the 6th he homered to deep right, scoring teammates Baxes, Carrasquel, & Tuttle. Maris was AL MVP in 1960 and 1961. In the 19 years he was considered for Hall of Fame induction, he received a low of 16.6% and a high of 43.1%. Maris played for and with 18 eventual Hall of Famers: Moe Gordon, Bob Lemon, Minnie Minoso, Hoyt Wilhelm, Dick Williams, Early Wynn, Hank Greenberg; Whitey Herzog, Yogi Berra, Bill Dickey, Whitey Ford, Mickey Mantle, Casey Stengel, Lou Brock, Steve Carlton, Orlando Cepeda, Bob Gibson, and Red Schoendienst.

Pharmaceutical companies are paying millions to US politicians in an effort to get their products approved in this country. This includes foreign companies whose home country has banned the products because they’re so harmful. The status quo isn’t working. No wonder they don’t want anyone banning these drugs in America. These politicians don’t care about the health of American citizens, they just want to continue to line their pockets. Here’s how much politicians have been paid in the past 25 years.
