Thursday night we watched the NFL Honors. Ceil was actually interested in the show this year. That worried me because oftentimes the humor can be raunchy, but this year it was pretty clean. Fun fact: NFL commissioner is my age (65) and married to a former TV newscaster eight years younger. Seventy-two year old UNC HC Bill Belichick was seated on the front row, probably to show off his 24 year old girlfriend’s skimpy attire. Belichick and Deion Sanders presented an award. Prime Time wore a black suit with his signature Nike Air Diamond Turf sneakers.
Super Bowl: the Chiefs uniforms have been consistent throughout their long history. While I like their home uniforms the best, their road unis are legit as well. Prediction: KC TE Travis Kelce will wear yellow shoes. Ugh. Just learned Kelce’s ex-girlfriend, social media “influencer” Kayla won the reality TV show Special Forces. Never heard of her before like today. Someone who is famous for being famous. I am unknown at being unknown.
Not a fan of the Eagles current uniform: home, road, or the black for black’s sake alternate. They do have several past uniforms that were great, including the Randall Cunningham era throwback uni they wore this year. Other great past unis include the simple silver wing uni worn by Van Brocklin in 1960, the early 60’s double striped unis, and the unique green and grey unis worn in the late 70’s / early 80’s by Vince Papale, Wilbert Montgomery, and Harold Carmichael.
Just started the book “Good Energy: The Surprising Connection Between Metabolism and Limitless Health”, by Calley & Casey Means. Casey graduated from Stanford Medical School at the top of her class and was training to be an ENT surgeon when she realized the operations and prescriptions, she was treating her patients with wasn’t making them better. While numerous specialists were prescribing multiple medicines to treat individual maladies in the same patient, Casey stepped back and looked at health issues for the body as a whole.Speaking of sickness, in my small group the flue has been going around: Dan, Georgia, John, David, and Amy. Today coworker Angie is out sick. I’m gonna keep taking my vitamins, getting enough sleep and exercise, and trying to limit my stress.
Left work at 530 again last night. C’s friend Noelle had a hip replacement earlier this week so C took them supper, and fixed us the same meal: baked chicken, tossed salad, and baked vegetables.
Watched Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy and High Potential. Up early to work out at the gym this morning.
C told Will that we would babysit on Valentines, so I made Thursday Feb 13 reservations for the Thai place on Windward that C likes. Not my favorite. Houstons was booked. Ceil cooks steak bites once or twice a month. I know I am strange, but I would rather have a burger than a steak.
Would like to have a bookcase like this in my home office. Six feet square. Fill it with a few books, bobbles, caps, a football helmet, one batting helmet, maybe sneakers on the bottom row. Can put crap on top as well. A man can dream, can’t he?
