Braves to "Refresh" Uniforms

News: the Braves are “refreshing” their uniforms for 2019. Not sure what they’re gonna do. The changes will be unveiled Saturday morning at 11:30 am. I hope to be there. In the past I’ve sent the Braves my suggestions, which include:

1. black or navy tomahawk like in Milwaukee
2. large red names on back like in 1962-64
3. put “Braves” back on road unis instead of “Atlanta” like they had throughout their history up to 1976
4. black shoes.
5. wear the royal 1972 feather unis on Sundays.

PREDICTION: the return of the red Sunday jerseys.
One recruit switched his commitment from Ohio State to Georgia.
Georgia’s Jacob Eason transferred to Washington.
Georgia’s Justin Fields is transferring to Ohio State.
Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins is headed to the NFL early.
Ohio State’s Tate Martell is transferring to Miami.
Ohio State’s Joe Burrow transferred to LSU.
Notre Dame’s Brandon Wimbush is transferring to UCF.
Clemson’s Kelly Bryant is transferring to Missouri.
Clemson’s Hunter Johnson transferred to Northwestern.
Alabama’s Jalen Hurts is transferring to Oklahoma.
Oklahoma’s Austin Kendall is trying to transfer to West Virginia.
Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray is headed to the NFL early. Or baseball. Earlier he had transferred from Texas A&M.
Auburn’s Jarrett Stidham transferred from Texas A&M to Auburn, then headed to the NFL early.
FSU’s DeAndre Johnson is transferring to Florida Atlantic.
FSU’s Deondre Francois is leaving early for the NFL.
Georgia Tech’s Tobias Oliver is switching to defensive back.
Too bad Georgia Tech can’t get one of those transfers,
but maybe it’s for the best.

This year the Saints’ Alvin Kamara became the fourth player in NFL history to accumulate 500 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving in each of their first two seasons, joining Abner Haynes, Herschel Walker, and Edgerrin James.

Last year Kamara’s 81 receptions were the third-most ever by a first-year back. In 1986 Herschel’s 76 receptions were the second-most ever behind any first-year player, behind 49ers fullback Earl Cooper in 1980.

After last week your friend Tom Brady has now won more playoff games than any other quarterback has even started in.
Sunday night’s AFC Championship Game may be played under a lunar eclipse.

One thing sporting events and some TV shows are starting to do that I like, when they run the commercial on the split screen. Sometimes I am so focused on the show that it takes me awhile to figure out the commercial is running at the same time.

Interesting that RAW is live on TV so they have to start and stop at specific times. Smart to have a few warmup bouts before the main show.

Monday: busy day at work. Was given a big project Monday morning that will take the rest of the month to complete. This after spending all last week getting caught up week from December.  Got a decent amount done. Stopped at the bank and for gas on the way home. Arrived home at 7 pm. Black beans and rice plus tossed salad for supper. Hilarious episode of The Neighborhood, then the Hallmark Channel, then bed.

Tuesday: even busier at work. Given another project to straighten out a big mess for the department upstairs. Over $400,000.00 of mess. Worked all day on it, except while in a two hour lunch meeting. Desk is a mess.

Left work around 6:20. No stops. Ceil and Matthew were cooking soups: a Mexican chicken and bean soup as well as potato soup, which wasn’t ready. Also tossed salad. After 8 pm when we finished cleaning up. Watched The Kids are Alright at 8:30. Hilarious, but you hate to see the parents being so cruel.

Last fall we had hired a lady to help with the segment of business that had shifted to Minnesota. She was a real hard worker, old school 62 year old who knew Atlanta history. Didn’t take any slack, a fun lady. But the customer decided to discontinue production of the vehicles we supplied parts for, so we had to let the lady go. We’ll miss her.

Also learned my friend Jeff in Little Rock would be retiring at the end of the month. So many have retired, and I’ve tried to keep up with them occasionally: Randy, Bill, Debbie, Sandra, Apollo, Jim, and Born. Randy had moved to Arizona and met Maury Wills at an old time base ball game.

Coworker Rachel went to the OKC/Hawks game last night. Parked on the street in Buckhead near her friend’s apartment. When she got back her car had been broken in to.
