REGIS RETURNS!

On this past week’s Fresh Off the Boat the main character went on Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Regis made a guest appearance as the host. He’s 88 years old and seems to be well.

When I watch games or TV shows oftentimes I’m also doing stuff on my laptop. So I’m listening to the announcers, looking up for the plays. Didn’t realize during the Aubun/Alabama game late when Auburn sent out the punter on 4th down Bama sent out their punt return team. But it was only the punter, who lined up as a receiver. The Auburn QB and offense stayed on the field and lined up. Bama saw this and ran back their defense onto the field and tried to get the punt coverage team off the field, but got called for too many men on the field when the deep return man remained on the field. Hadn’t ever seen this before.

See where GT shot 14 of 25 from the charity stripe against George Mason? They need to let you be their designated foul shooter! Right now one GT player leads the NCAA in three point percentage (61%), and another leads in blocks. Heck that three point shooter has a better percentage from long range than the team does from the foul line (56%).

Supposedly Tech’s football recruiting class is 25th in the nation, which is an improvement over past years. Hopefully they’ll win more games next season. I still think they need a better QB than Graham, though he did show improvement as the season progressed.

Georgia Tech says they wore a different costume in each game this year. Not sure what some of the differences were between the Clemson game and against Miami. They boasted of this with a headline reading “STYLE & SUNSTANCE.” Not really sure about the style, and the substance part was for sure inaccurate. Prediction: next year they’ll add a navy helmet. Don’t be surprised if they unveil an all-black or all-grey uniform. Because everyone else does that (except top ten teams like Alabama, UGA, Clemson. Oklahoma, USC, Texas, Auburn, etc).

Actually a book I recently read about its better to be good in lots of things, than to be great at one thing  - the book addressed Shaq’s foul shooting. Said perhaps instead of just shooting from the foul line, he should shoot from 10 feet, then 15 feet, then 20 feet, etc. Kinda like the way people practice putting, or I practiced field goals. I rarely practiced 20 yard extra points because that was easy. Instead I moved around: different distances from each hash mark. I even practiced one yard field goals from off to the side. Really had to kick those straight. The book also said that if 100 kids grew up practicing golf like Tiger Woods, some would get good, but none would be the next Tiger Woods.

Starbucks has a special holiday cup as well – did you get one of those?

Need to talk to the surgeon about Barney I think. It’s his CCL – similar to the ACL. He also has a problem with his rear end that needs to be checked out. I remember you used to have to give Fraser extra attention. Not sure may be similar.

Barney lays around most of the time. Will go into the kitchen when C is cooking, hoping for scraps. Will still get up and get closer to the TV when he sees a dog, but a little less than he used to. I told you how I dragged B out of the car by pulling the blanket he was sitting on. Not sure how C got Barney out of the car on Sunday.

Last night C was at her women’s ministry. I worked until six then traffic was jammed coming home, so I didn’t go to the YMCA. Hopefully tonight.

Got home and fixed two ham quesadillas. Didn’t want the ham to go bad. Didn’t really feel like turning on the TV. Did see the new college football playoff rankings. Later when C and M came home we watched the Brad Paisley special with Peyton Manning, then the CMA Country Christmas hosted by Trisha Yearwood with Kristen Chenowith. That one had lots of songs about Jesus.

We had customers in for a tour today, so I got dragged to lunch with them at the Medlock Tavern at the corner of Peachtree Industrial and Medlock Bridge. Good bar food. Appetizer of Chicken eggrolls. Then chicken tenders and seasoned fries with cole slaw. Passed on the burgers, with looked kinda plain.

We have a lot going on. C is slammed and sick. She’s bummed about Barney’s ailments, as am I. Several other issues as well.
