Wednesday: worked past 5:30. Straight home. Grilled chicken, rice, and vegetables. Jeopardy.

Lifted weights at the gym this morning. At work I wrote an anniversary speech about a coworker. Over 600 words. Not sure if I’ll get to deliver it, since he works out on the road.

DENISON: New Testament scholar Craig Keener’s new book, Miracles Today: The Supernatural Work of God in the Modern World, documents contemporary miracles. Example: Dr. Sean George, a 39-nine-year-old physician in Australia, had a heart attack on October 24, 2008. His coworkers tried for 55 minutes to revive him. His wife is also a medical professional. By the time she reached him, Sean’s body was cold. He had been dead for 1-1/2 hours. She took his hand and prayed: “Sean is just 39, I’m just 38, and we have a ten-year-old boy. I need a miracle!” Immediately, Sean’s heart started beating. Doctors were certain he would suffer irreversible brain damage. To their shock, he awoke 3 days later with full brain function. He was discharged from the hospital and was back working full-time in three months. Dr. George kept all his medical records and has made them available on his website for the world to see.

PAUL MOLITOR  [SABR Bio] his 225 hits were the most in a season by a 40-year-old. Molitor’s birthday is 22-Aug-1956, so he was 40 at the end of the 1996 Season. That year he banged out his personal high in hits, 225. It was the third time he’d led the league in hits.  The previous high by a 40-year-old was the 207 collected by Sam Rice in 1930. Toronto ‘s SkyDome, now the Rogers Centre, opened on 05-Jun-1989. Molitor, playing for Milwaukee, was the first batter.  He doubled off Jimmy Key. Molitor is the only player to reach first base on catcher’s interference in an All-Star game. Pinch-hitting for Wade Boggs in the 7th inning of the 1991 ASG, Molitor swung and clipped the edge of catcher Craig Biggio’s mitt, and was awarded first.
