Braves City Connect Uniforms

Braves unveiled their Nike-designed City Connect uniforms earlier this week. It's an understatement to say they are prominently displayed in the team store.

The design is supposed to honor Hank Aaron - and does have some hard to spot features like a 715 and his signature - but these new uniforms are a far cry from the classic feather unis Hank wore back in the day.

At least you can buy a City Connect with Hank's name and number.

MLB teams can only wear so many uni sets: five including the city unis. The Braves will wear home white, Friday red, road grey or navy, and these city unis on home Saturdays. This means the Braves will no longer wear the feather throwbacks for Hank Aaron weekend.

Okay, the red square design is growing on me, but it's like an upside-down baseball diamond.

Not good in my book. The caps are okay, I guess. Also the Stance socks, Nike gym shorts, and some of the jackets. All are expensive.

First time since when, Boston? that the franchise didn't have the team name on the front of the jersey.
The numberless jerseys are even more plain.

Of course I had to try on a Murphy jersey. For some reason the number 12 just doesn't look good on the back of a Braves jersey. Or maybe it's an ugly model.

Not sure what Brave has performed well with 12 on his back. Sid Bream had one moment, but who else? Hopefully not a bad omen for our new catcher.

Monday: worked until almost 5:30 before high tailing it to small group. A good session on I John 4. Angels and demons. Got home just before 9 and went to bed at ten.

Tuesday: only ran 2 miles this morning so I tried to make them fast. Worked past 6 pm. Fought traffic to the Moes in Johns Creek. Walked in at 6:25. Six in line ahead of me. Maybe two more waiting for their food. Four employees. Took 25 minutes to go through the line. Got a free soft drink for my trouble. Stopped for gas on the way home.

Lifted weights at the gym Wednesday morning. Fought computer issues most of today, then a Thursday computer meeting for 1-1/2 hours. BBQ at work for lunch Wednesday. Matthew made meatballs for sup.

Thursday: work lunch was Jason’s Deli sandwiches. Worked until six again then drove straight home. C baked a juicy chicken. Also salad. I fell asleep during So What About Todd.

Friday: still not 100% so I used it as an excuse to skip the gym for a second straight day.

Saturday: the guys are meeting at Jim & Nicks BBQ for lunch tomorrow. There’s a Braves event at Truist Park that I’d like to check out, if the rain holds off. Same with AM golf.

What happened in Nashville was a tragedy. Some in the national media are saying those pulling the trigger, murdering the Christians are the victims, that the Christians had it coming to them. Others in the media are claiming China’s systematic genocide of Muslims is no worse than the US criminal justice system.
