The Concert Was Obdurate

Several months ago we planned to attend the Dec 14 Andrew Peterson Behold the Lamb of God concert at Perimeter Church in Johns Creek with the Broadwells, Earharts, and Halls.

Dec 9-10 Shivonne is sick. Lee's brother passes away, so the Earharts travel to Arkansas.

Dec 11-12 Ceil sleeps over at Shivonne's.

Dec 12 Ceil returns home and cooks lasagna, and cleans to prepare for the Broadwells arrival.

Dec 13 Ceil wakes up sick, and spends most of the day in bed. I have a rough day at work. The Broadwells drive straight to the Earharts. After work I pick up the lasagna and eat with the Broadwells, over at the Earharts. On the way home I stop by Kroger to pick up things for Ceil.

Dec 14 Ceil better, but not good enough to venture out. I spend 815-845 on the phone with work, then drive the Broadwells to eat breakfast at Bellwood Coffee. See Matthew, Charles Norman and family, and Joel Norman's wife Addie. When Addie learns we're headed to the Andrew Peterson concert, she bemoans the fact they couldn't get tickets.

Meanwhile the Halls were taking her special needs brother to the Northside Hospital ER, where they spend all day and night. They were still waiting when Will reported to work at 4 pm. Will helped get them treated. They didn't get to a room until late in the evening.

With the Halls tickets going unused, I texted Addie. She and Joel were thrilled, and vowed to meet us at the concert. After coffee I drove the Broadwells home to visit with Ceil for a couple of hours. Dawn needs to rest, so after a stop by Trader Joes I drop them back off at the Earharts. I stop by the library, then drive to Buckhead to pick up our Christmas cards from Anna. Also grab a free peppermint milkshake from Chickfila. Get home at 430. Spent 430-5 pm on thew phone with work.

We leave for the concert at 5 pm. Traffic. Eat at Panera Bread with the Broadwells. The Earharts are driving back from Arkansas, dropping off a cousin in Nashville. They drive straight to the concert. Joel and Addie Norman arrive, and we all sit together. But earlier in the day Joel had been bitten by a spider. His hand hurts and he's starting to get chills. At intermission Addie takes Joel home. Seems as if the whole concert thing just wasn't meant to be.

I wanted to make sure I wasn't getting sick, so I pounded the vitamins and liquids and skipped the gym this morning to rest. C went down to keep Shivonne again. Now MC has the same crud. Hopefully not much on tap for the weekend, though after golf tomorrow I will probably work for a few hours.

Being on the go all day Thursday, I tried to check work emails when I could so I wouldn't have 300 emails when I returned to work. Started the day with 56. Currently at 21 and should knock it down under 20 today.

KEITH HERNANDEZ [SABR Bio] a San Francisco native, became a model for Just For Men hair color after his retirement. Born in San Francisco 20-Oct-1953. Hernandez, along with basketball Hall of Famer Walt Frazier and football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith, did a series of television and print ads for a hair coloring product targeted at men. Keith was the first infielder to win a Gold Glove and batting title in the same season, in 1979. He was finally dropped from the Hall of Fame ballot after failing to receive the required minimum percentage of votes.
