Not enough time to dig into the SEC Championship. Bama dominated on the line of scrimmage. If they played ten times, Bama would win 5 or six.
Hate to blame the refs, though I saw penalties called on UGA that weren't called on Bama. Holding. Facemasks. That 4th down pass ruled complete that hit the ground, that led to a TD. That was the difference in the game right there. On the 45 yard field goal try – who on the UGA line moved? That would've sent the game into OT. Not sure if UGA passed up a field goal try in the second half when they were trying to score a TD.
No telling what will happen in the Orange Bowl game. FSU is mad. UGA may lose players to the transfer portal and/or sitting out for the draft. Hopefully WR McConkey and TE Bowers will be at full strength. I still say UGA wins, even if the injured FSU QB is back. UGA QB Brock Vandagriff is transferring, perhaps to Kentucky.
Sunday afternoon there was no activity on Tech social media, about what bowl game they were going to. GT social media isn't the best. I googled to see: Birmingham Bowl vs Troy. Hours later before bed I saw GT was playing UCF in some bowl in Tampa. That was an improvement.
Gator Bowl is Clemson vs Kentucky. Should be a good game.
Falcons in first place, but they still have to play Tampa, Carolina, Colts, and Bears. A long way to go.
Playoff: there are still 5 major conferences: SEC, Big 10, ACC, Big 12, Pac 10. What if all five have champions with undefeated seasons? Only four can make the playoff. Before I wasn't thrilled about a 12 team playoff, but now I think I am ready for it. Evan if 12 teams were in this year's playoff, right now Bama and Texas might be peaking at the right time.
As I had said, I was worn out from a busy Friday and Saturday. It hadn't rained too much, and noticed it wasn't supposed to rain on Sunday morning. I considered getting in an early round of golf and then heading to the office to work, skipping church. But I was so tired that I decided to sleep in, since Sunday School isn't until 10 am. Received a blessing. A good Sunday School lesson from Brian, a good time of sharing and prayer with Joe, and good discussion on Christmas distractions with Reid, Samir, Robert, and Jim.
Walked 2-1/2 miles around Truist Park. Forgot to check out the team store. Didn't need anything, that's for sure. Guess I was able to decompress a little from work.
Up early to lift weights at the gym. Tried to hit it pretty hard. No catered lunch. So day it was been one hard to figure out thing after another.
