Craig returned three kicks for 43 yards. Anderson, Watters, and George never returned a kick. Walker had 5084 return yards, giving him 18168 all purpose yards. When Devin Hester gets a gold jacket and special teamer Steve Tasker gets considered, perhaps it’s time to take another look at Walker’s all-round career, toiling for poor to average teams.
Herschel not only played special teams, but lined up at several offensive positions in addition to tailback: fullback, H-back, tight end, flanker, and wide receiver. He returned kickoffs, and played on punt coverage teams. No other elite back in his era (or before) was so versatile).
Most yards in a season:
RC 2066 in 1985 (1050 rushing and 1016 receiving).
EG 1962
RW 1855 twice
OA 1913 as a rookie.
HW 2051 and 2019
Walker gained 1000+ yards ten straight years (11 of 12 NFL seasons). Nine straight years just with rushing and receiving yards. He gained 951 yards in the one year he fell short of a thousand. One thousand yard seasons:
06 Anderson
09 Watters
08 Craig
08 George
11 Walker
Sure the others went to more Pro Bowls and had more playoff appearances - two things that seem to go hand in hand. Other backs were named to Pro Bowls ahead of Herschel because a great percentage of Walker's yards came from receiving (and returns). The media was primarily focused on rushing yards, not receiving and special teams. Plus none of the is Herschel played for ever made the playoffs..
Walker is just as deserving as any other back of induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. And this doesn't include Herschel's first three professional seasons.
ARTICLE: how to be a better listener. Something I need to be better at. Be mentally present. Don’t multitask or be thinking of your response. Don’t let your mind wander. Fully engage. Be curious about what the other person is saying. Care. Ask questions. Practice these tips. Pause before answering. Process that the other person just said before responding. Don’t interrupt. Hear them out, even if you disagree or aren’t interested. Don’t be defensive. Nod your head. Only in casual conversations should you interject with expressions like “no way!”. Make eye contact. Mirror the other’s posture. Be natural.
A couple of years ago a vendor gave me WalMart.com gift cards and I have yet to use them. I have shopped for items on WalMart.com but just haven’t pulled the trigger. Need to get a pair of brown leather shoes to wear to church but haven’t felt like buying anything since Christmas. Ceil has an Amazon Prime account and gets stuff delivered almost every day.
Also I have several rewards from focus groups, and just haven’t cashed them in.
Seems like every Wendys is different. I meant to say that I hadn’t been to Arbys in a while. Went back yesterday for two sliders and a Jamocha shake. Asked for a senior drink and they charged me 50 cents. Man those Wendys Doubles have a lot of meat.
I don’t like to go to that WalMart in Roswell. Too many cars. I try to park on the side.
Man I have changed over the years. Pretty sure I don't want to teach preschool, or work with any age children (except Shivonne and Millie). I used to love working with teenagers but not sure any more. So much has changed in the world.
Time changes this weekend.
